I just would like to thank the authors and editors for launching this commentary series.
I boght the volume related to the book of James and started using it to teach "high-schoolers".
The commentary has been really helpful in identifying the main idea of the text and also how to apply it.
A lot of the hermeneutic work has been done which helps to save a lot of time in lesson preparation.

I have just taken a hermeneutics class in seminary and can see a lot of things I learned being applied in a practical way in this commentary.
Also, it is easy to read without lacking key information about the text and context.
I believe the authors achieved their goasl for this series, based on this initial experience of mine with James.
Once again, thank you for your contribution in equipping believers to better serve our Lord Jesus Christ.

5.0 out of 5 stars Faith Challenge 4 Jan. 2015
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

Like all of David Platt's writings,he challenged my faith, to live in obedience to God. The Church talks too much and does to little to help the least among us.
I am convicted by this book, this is the challenge I need to answer, the church needs to answer. If the truths taught in this book doesn't change you, there may need to be a examination of your faith. Faith without works is dead.
5.0 out of 5 stars BRILLIANT COMMENTARY 25 Jan. 2016
By graham brooke-smith - Published on Amazon.com

I found this an extremely helpful commentary - particularly useful for preachers because it breaks down each section into excellent sub-headings; but also very easy and engaging to read so that a lay-person would also thoroughly enjoy it. David Platt manages to pack a lot of information into a relatively brief and very well-structured commentary. I highly recommend this book and this series.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for a personal study as well 4 Nov. 2015

I think in the forward or preface Platt mentions that this is a resource aimed at pastors, but I used it as a personal resource for the study of James. It took me deeper into the text than I would naturally go. I'll probably use other books in the series the same way.
