The clip to close the case is flimsy and I didn’t trust it to stay closed, so I’ve ended up using a bit of duct tape for peace of mind. The last thing I need is to be rooting around for escaped batteries in the bottom of my rucksack in the dark.
Also, because the case doesn’t particularly close very tightly, I wouldn’t trust it to keep the batteries inside protected from any moisture. To be fair, I don’t believe water resistance is an advertised feature of this product, but it’s worth noting nevertheless. I have sealed mine inside a freezer bag to keep them dry.
To finish on a more positive note the cases do seem relatively sturdy for the money, and now that they are wrapped in plastic and duct tape I’m confident they will do the job for my spare/emergency batteries.
I also add a small piece of foam inside to stop rattles, which are more noticeable with smaller AAA batteries.
As written above these can be joined up. There are some slots and tabs on each side of the cases. All you have to do is to line them up and join them.
You can also write on the cases with an marker pen and they can be cleaned with an wet wipe containing some alcohol.
Overall they are good for keeping batteries that are used or open separately from each other. They are also an good way to organise them. However with the issues above they have not been able to reach5 stars.
They allow either 4 x AA or 4 x AAA batteries to be stored securely in a plastic case. The case clips shut, and is easy to open. They stop the batteries from touching each other / anything else and discharging in your bag, and they also mean you don't need to store the batteries in the device (just in case of battery leaks).
The cases also clip together using two little hooks, so you can daisy-chain as many cases as you want in a line. No idea why you'd really want to do that, but you can...
The plastic is transparent and you can write your initials on the inside (in reverse) with a Sharpie - they won't rub off and they'll be visible from the outside.
