"Evil Aliens" has become one of the standard DVDs we show to visiting friends who need to relax, laugh a lot and generally let their hair down.

The film opens with a sex scene, closely followed by possibly the most gory disembowelling you'll ever see...and this all before the credits roll! However, though extremely gory and very tasteless at times, this is the sort of film which absolutely refuses to take itself seriously. Everything's very tongue-in-cheek, hammed-up and generally humorous - taken in its proper context, it's a very funny film.

Watch out for the combine harvester scene, as other reviewers have mentioned. You'll never forget it, and should the world ever be invaded by evil extraterrestrial beings, all those who've seen this movie will be heading for the farm equipment whilst everyone else is still trying to load their guns.

I have a huge fondness for horror films, and usually tend towards more cerebral, often Asian-made, subtle psychological terror offerings. Evil Aliens is none of these things, but if you want to laugh, groan and have a very amusing evening in with broad-minded friends....it's hard to beat.

'Evil Aliens' is Britain's answer (or rather 'homage') to 'Evil Dead,' only with aliens, obviously. It's about a camera crew who travel to Wales to film a local's story about how she was impregnated by an alien baby and, once there, they discover that there's more to the country than just a rogue sheep.

There are no recognisable actors in this film (unless you count the cameo from Norman Lovett from Red Dwarf and even he's hardly on form). Therefore, the cast appear largely as novices to their profession. Please don't expect any form of Oscar-worthy performances here. Secondly, the special effects are pretty hit and miss. Those created by CGI are pretty below par and akin to something you'd expect to see on the Sci-fi Channel's worst offerings. However, the effects created by generally ripping people apart and severing limb with garden tools are actually pretty decent (if you like seeing people being run over and splatting under combine harvesters).

With it's poor acting, clichéd dialogue and so-so effects, 'Evil Aliens' is a pretty poor offering. However, it does have one saving grace. It KNOWS it's a poor offering. It never tries to be a great work of art, therefore it does come across as quite 'knowing.' It knows what it is and it never tries to be anything else. That leaves you to just sit back, put your brain on hold and enjoy watching people being chopped up in as many and varied ways possible.

No matter how bad it gets, the classic scenes just keep coming.

Evil Aliens isn't bad.
The first 30 minutes are pretty boring.
Once it gets going the gore comedy element isn't bad.
It's better than anything Guy Ritchie ever made.
The CGI/ digital effects took a year to make and it improves the feel of the film.
The ensemble cast are good & you know from the interviews they enjoyed each others company and making this daft film.
It's a bad film but enjoyable.
Jake West comes across well in the interviews and has made a few other interesting films I will get.
Unfortunately for Evil Aliens I watched Cradle Of Fear on the same day and it was much funnier and had more inventive comedy gore and creative ways people died.
Maybe Jake West could gain inspiration from Alex Chandon and his oeuvre?

This is though a film for Emily Booth fans and her bras, cleavage and breast peeks. She is pretty sexy as usual & has a great sense of humour and tongue in cheek style. I would highly recommend this film to fans of Ms. Booth.

The combine harvester scene isn't that good. It's easy to please some people. More interesting is the way some people die, like the gay guy, the two lesser welsh brothers and Emily Booth's death is very inventive and funny.
The aliens are basically 6 or 8 guys in rubber masks running around like in Scooby Doo. They are not impressive.
Kudos to the guy who played Gavin the UFO geek who made a lot of effort to balance the others tongue in cheek efforts with his character trying to take aliens seriously.
The other babe was pretty sexy too and seemed even better looking in the interviews.

The bloopers are rubbish, Emily just cursing...

"Evil Aliens" is the tale of an extraterrestrial arrival on a small island off the coast of Wales, where an investigative TV crew have become trapped.

The team, made up of the sexy, ice-maiden TV presenter (who also turns out to possess a Buffy-esque Kung Fu ability), hunky camera crew, an OTT camp actor, another tagalong vixen, and the obligatory sci-fi geek, make up what plays out as an adult Scooby-Do team in their mystery machine. They are forced to team up with the suspicious and stereotyped inbred local farmworkers in an attempt to defend themselves against the aliens' arrival.

Deliberately below the league of "American Werewolf", "Braindead", and so on, we are clearly in Troma territory here with "Evil Aliens". Indeed, there is much Troma-esque about this film. So if you like silly, sexy, comedy B-Movies, this is probably a good place to park your saucer.
