Kevin shares his personal story and allows us into his life. He doesn’t hold back, which encourages us to be honest with ourselves.
I know and love people with anxiety and depression, and Kevin Braddock’s humour and practical suggestions helped me understand what they are going through.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves and wants to support someone struggling with depression and anxiety.
Thank you for writing this book, Kevin, and for sharing this part of yourself with us!
I am in full belief that we all experience depressive and anxious moments or episodes, so in reality need you be clinically diagnosed or not, if you pay attention you will see moments you've hit a rough patch and had to pick yourself up.
This book has just added to my knowledge and understanding of how we navigate through life, when it does hit you hard how to pick yourself up and how to just find a level of peace with being "ok", instead of always having to be on a "high".
I highly recommend this book to everyone. Some things were simply not taught to us as kids, but is our responsibility to teach ourselves with books like these.
Since 2017, Kevin’s story has helped me enormously to understand more about my own depression and anxiety than most professional sources, especially on how to manage life from day to day. His story is real and relevant for today.
‘Everything Begins with Asking for Help: An honest guide to depression and anxiety, from rock bottom to recovery’ goes further still and offers advice, guidance and information for people who suffer from depression and anxiety. I believe this should become a standard textbook to help people who suffer with mental health or for those people who know someone who suffers.
I highly recommend this book and thank Kevin for helping me realise that I was not alone; there is support and strategies that can help people cope with the path to recovery. I know that I will always have this book close at hand.
I've lived with anxiety fuelled depression for many years culminating in a major depressive episode and a suicide attempt. Over the years I've read countless books and articles on the subject and this is the best by a country mile.
Kevin's ability to eloquently and precisely document his experience, story-tell and share his many years experience of trying different methods to manage this crippling illness is worth it's weight in gold.
Certain to become the standard by which all books on the subject will be measured against.
