Book Description

In the futuristic society on Planet Earth, Elizabeth Bennet is accused of luring Fitzwilliam Darcy to an illegal establishment, which leads to their exile deep in the centre of a rebel planet. The subsequent galactic war exposes dark secrets regarding the autocratic Queen Immortal. Will Elizabeth and Darcy discover their love for one another and find their way back to Earth? Set in the 39th Century, this novel is a tale of Pride and Prejudice-inspired science fiction, where Jane Austen’s characters take on new lives but still face the barrier of class distinction and seek to overcome their faults, as in the original classic. Initially written as a “choose-your-own” adventure, Wilson’s sexy new take on Austen’s novel received over 20,000 of page views and votes regarding the development of each chapter when it was posted in online forums. Wilson’s novels, Bargain with the Devil has been ranked in the top 50 best-selling historical romances on Amazon USA, Really Angelic in the top 30 best-selling Regency romances on Amazon Canada, My Darcy Mutates… in the top 21 romantic short stories on Amazon UK and Fire and Cross in the top 39 British detective mysteries on Amazon. Warning: This title contains mind control, torpedo and explicit sex scenes.

If you've read Enid Wilson's other books you will probably not be expecting anything too close to the original Pride and Prejudice, she really likes to have some fun with the characters, and puts them in situations that other authors just don't think of (e.g. She has written stories where Liszy is an angel, Darcy trapped as a tiny cursed dragon, etc, some quite off the wall stuff).

This is a futuristic tale where reproduction is decided by committee and the evil Lady Catherine rules the planet. It's quite light hearted and silly, which I don't mind at all but somehow it all just felt a bit flat to me, initially Darcy likes Lizzy but she's not keen on him then almost immediately they get over it and fall in love and the book focuses on getting them safely back to earth and the mystery of whether Lady C is a murderer, the romance aspect of the book is pretty much finished in the first 10% of the book, and I'm not sure the rest of the plot holds enough to keep interest up.

2.0 out of 5 stars TOO UNREALISTIC FOR ME 1 Oct. 2011
By Alia's Thoughts - Published on Amazon.com

I alway enjoy the authors books, however this was one I liked lease. Her other books were so sexy, filled with the expression of love and oneness of the characters. I just didn't care for the baby talking in Elizabeth's stomach. I enjoyed the baby as a character and enjoyed the babies interjections. I just found the book hard to finish, however due to my love for the author, I refused to give up on the book. If you care for science fictions, have at it! The story line had a good twisted. Please author(Enid) continue to take risk, your readers can handle it. Change is good and prepares us for all the many changes that will continue to come our way. I am looking forward to growing as this author grows. I still can't wait for the next book she has in store.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fun read! 28 May 2012

Not much about Darcy and Elizabeth's characters in this book, this is not the best one from the author. I read it in some hours, it was fun, but I didn't like it as much as the others she wrote.
