A nice easy romance read, perfect for a nice bit of escapism after a long day.

The story focuses on Everly, a trainee physiotherapist, and Cole- a sport star celebrity who wants to keep his injury secret from the media. The more time the two spend together, the more their feelings become more than professional.

This is a love story that builds gradually as the two spend more time together. Even though it is a gradual build, you are not left bored as the reader or shouting at your kindle. The characters are really likable and we get our nice HEA, with this being a standalone book and not part of a series that we wait forever to get the sequel.

a heartbreakingly, sickeningly sweet compelling book which leaves you smiling so much your cheeks hurt!

in most books you get the common problem of trying to fit in a complex relationship in few chapters whilst attempting to make the reader feel emotionally invested ! in this book there is no problem - there is a realistic time frame and it doesn't appear the relationship was sped up for the purposes of fitting it into a book - I am genuinely surprised and pleasantly pleased! many praises for this book, a must read for those who love romance, banter, two strong characters and a compelling mystery element! one word summary: excellent!

What I really like about this book is how the author showed the build up of the romance between Everly and Cole in a really believable and convincing fashion, so unlike many of the erotic novels nowadays where the lead characters just jump into bed, knowing each other for just 5 minutes! I love the fact that the hero is an alpha male and yet, he is kind, sweet and comes from a lovely background for a change! All in all, I was pleasantly surprised and delighted to have given this book a chance. I would not have discovered this book had I not taken the time to navigate the recommendations of the kindle store.

I love it when a book catches you unaware. You know the ones, you take a chance, find yourself unable to put it down, devouring in one sitting and heaving a sigh of delight once finishing.
Starting off I thought Cole was going to be the typical playboy, millionaire sports star. What with his arrogance, drink driving and the whole 'woe is me' persona. But as the story progresses you get to see him a different light and in the end I found him to be a refreshing character. I loved his funny, witty banter and how he saw Everly struggling emotionally from the first encounter (noticing her fake and genuine smiles). I adored watching him fall in love with her and didn't see her as a project to fix.
But I especially loved Everly as a character. With her dad not caring and walking away with the insurance money after her mother's funeral she doesn't let it knock her priorities and dreams. From the age of 16, she works her ass off to make ends meet and look after her sick grandpa and not let him down whilst also getting her Physical Therapist degree. She's also getting over finding her aspiring pitcher brother shooting himself. But she never plays the tortured soul, she grits her teeth and puts everyone before herself.
Cole and Everly are perfect for each other, although they obviously find each other attractive the relationship is made more believable by them becoming friends via a business agreement before lovers.
There is a few twists thrown in for good measure (an Ex - or 2! & a blast from the past) because obviously a great book needs a bit drama! But what made this great for me was there is no overload on the angst, no *eye-rolling* clichè moments or mis-communications that drag on. It was a well written, engaging love story which I'm looking forward to reading again in the future.

I actually liked this book. some of the subject matter is heavy going. Her family history with her brother and mother, and her less than admirable father who throws a few nasty curveballs along the way. What I actually liked was the slow build up and relationship between Everly and Cole. And of course the fact he was a hot wealthy sportsman was nice as well. Highly recommend to others

(I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review)

For Everly is the first book by Raine Thomas that I've picked up and I was happy I did.

Cole Parker is a famous pitcher in the Major Leagues and he's got a problem with his shoulder, and this injury might affect his chances of renewing his contract. Cole's brother is Dr Wyatt Parker and he knows just the perfect person to help Cole without the public finding out.

Everly Wallace is one of Wyatt's students and she is the brightest and youngest in her class. She lives with her grandpa and is struggling to make ends meet by waitressing in Wyatt's partner's Italian restaurant.

Wyatt introduced Everly to Cole and they started working together on treating Cole's shoulder. Something gradually blossomed between them but Everly wasn't sure if it was all a show to disguise their working together on a professional level or was it all real?

Cole's ex-girlfriend wants to get back with him and at around the same time, Everly was attacked. First her tyres were slashed and next she was beaten by a baseball bat and ended up in hospital. Who was responsible for these attacks and why?

Everly has never been with a guy before and we see her growing as she got closer and closer to Cole. Cole is a great guy, even though he's famous he doesn't have the massive ego that you expect from someone like him. He's very respectful of Everly and also very protective of her.

In the end, Cole's shoulder injuries were leaked to the press but thankfully it didn't jeopardise his chances of renewing his contract as by that time there were no evidence of any problems (thanks to Everly's help). Cole also worked out who the attacker was and we got a happy ending with Cole and Everly opening up to each other with nothing standing in between them. Oh how I always love a happy ending! :)
