I love the honesty of Dana's story. The way she recounts that she had to set aside some prejudice to become a Christian and then had to deal with finding herself at odds with some of the doctrines of the church whilst remaining within it.

She is, to my mind, someone who is listening to the still small voice of God. She is more interested in receiving and expressing the love of Jesus than in "the traditions of man" - the conventions that can limit us to following the letter rather than the spirit of the law.

Her descriptions of her spiritual experiences are deeply moving, and in particular her encounter with Jesus, of which the following words form a part:

"Whatever message Jesus delivered that evening couldn't be grasped by my conscious mind. I've always hoped he reached me at a deeper level. Eventually, he released my hands and drifted up and away.
Without his overpowering touch I was able to discern his final words, I am with you always..."

I consider myself a spiritual explorer - finding God both in and outside christianity. There is something here for any spiritual explorer, whatever their chosen path, but perhaps this book will speak particularly loudly to anyone who, like Dana and myself, is a Christian who doesn't feel that they fit quite neatly with their churches teachings. :-)

I did enjoy the book.
Her path from 'middle class Mum to Reiki Master' was very interesting, particularly her experiences with reincarnation on the way!
Unfortunately, my own prejudices stopped me fully appreciating her path and experiences - I couldn't get past her references to Jesus, Lord and Saviour.
I did find it refreshing, though, how she could maintain her Christian faith while exploring other paths and interests that her church would probably have not approved of. Well done, Dana, for stepping out of the doctrine! :)
I couldn't get into the meditations and prayers at the end, because they were too Christian oriented.

I've recently become interested in the energy centres in each of us (chakras), and how many our our physical and mental problems are manifested by interruption of this energy - problems with past lives, things from our childhood we may not be aware of, negative emotions like jealousy, etc, can all affect us in a negative way and produce physical ailments. Because of this, Dana's book was so interesting to me.

There is a lot of Dana's Christian influence in the book (and rightly so, as it's her memoir). I'm not religious at all, although I am spiritual, and believe more in the influence of the Universe and how it affects us. You don't have to be religious to learn the valuable information contained inside this inspiring and insightful book. There is a lot of information and reference points contained in the pages, as she explains the power of energy healing and its different methods. I couldn't put it down.
