This is a new updated edition. It is an invaluable one-stop handbook for event organisers and anyone responsible for putting on a voluntary or public event. It covers safety requirements and complying with the legislation. Research, plan, organise, manage and deliver any event, match, show, tournament or function - be it carnival, gymkhana, fun run, pop festival, school sports day or Formula 1 car race!
About the Author
Des Conway first became involved in event planning and managing in 1980, where he made and saw many mistakes and began to identify what makes an event fail or succeed. Later, and over 18 years, he played a central role in policing a variety of small, medium and large events, where he learned more about what makes an event a success. Lack of planning, lack of understanding and overlooking key issues often make an event far less successful than it should be. That's why he wrote this book - a handbook of information and experience to ensure that your event is a success.

It seems that the author has drawn on a lot of experience in writing it and I thought it was excellent. In a short space of time I had a good idea of what would be required in planning an event.
