This is the final book in the trilogy, and what a book it is. The book takes place over little more than a day as the Starborns set out to finally destroy Jeremiah - taking the fight to him. The odds are not, as always, in their favour, and there is a strong theme of desperation running through book, the Starborns know this is their last, and probably only, chance of defeating Jeremiah and the stakes are high.
Mora though is hiding a dark secret (though if you have read the second book in the series you will obviously know what this is) and this secret makes the cause seem even more desperate. I was on the edge of my seat all the way through the book desperately rooting for Mora and that she would have enough time to do what she needed to do.
We say goodbye to many central characters, in this final part of the trilogy - and whilst it was sad that certain characters didn't make it - I understand why they didn't. Ultimately though, the end of the book is uplifting and full of hope (and also possibly, maybe, hopefully, setting the scene for a continuance of the story through someone else's eyes - please?)
I loved this series and can honestly say that I am truly disappointed that it is over, but now I now how it all ends, I think I will re-read all three books, taking time to enjoy them more rather than racing through them desperate to how the story is resolved!!
I cannot recommend this book or the entire trilogy enough.
