These simple plastic rings are the only ring you'll be having once they're on. With some clamp-rings, you may have to trim a tincy-wincy bit from around the edge of the plastic, but all of those bits of tissue-filled-duck tape and jelly products can go in the bin (or on the reso if you still have the super-cheap-version-skin on there!) These are amazingly effective.

The e-rings have been very useful in dampening my toms, which resonate a lot. They sounded like they should be used in an orchestra, not a band! The rings muffle the toms pretty well and they sound a lot better now.

As for the snare drum, it's not nearly as good. In fact the ring hardly made a difference. I'd probably go with moon gel instead.

After using gaffer tape, moon gels etc, after putting brand new clear drum heads on my kit, i wanted a better looking alternative. My kit is set-up in a studio so i wanted a semi permanant but easy and visually nice looking way to reduce my drum overtones etc.. Moon Gels are great and still the 'go to' for fine tuning your snare and toms, but the thought of having to put them on everytime i used the kit, plus i couldnt leave them on as they would eventually lose their stick and dry out...

Heard of these and i have to say, perfect for me, it dampens the overtones causing issues yet, at first glance looks like there isn't anything on your toms. I've A/B'd with moon gels and these give almost the same result, though with moongels your able to give a more 'snare crack' sound.. But for me, all the drums give less resonance to each other, the snare sounds solid with little or no buzz and each tom sounds good. I have to say i'm using this in a room with little dampening and without these, the kit bounces off everything, if out and gigging, your moon gels would be ok to fine tune trouble areas. Plus, as a tuning aid, this helps dampen the sound if your tuning the toms whilst still on the kit.

As I was ordering some new G2 heads, I thought I'd give these a go - £8 wasn't alot to ask. To be honest I found the 'deadening effect' they have too severe - great if you are practising alone (or recording) and trying to reduce the ringing and overtones, but in a live context I suspect their effect is too much. Lessening of these tendencies can be achieved with judicious use of gaffer tape or parcel tape, or of course all the Moongel variants. Not for me personally, but I'm sure others will love them.

After buying the standard set (12,13,14,16) for my previous drum kit, i thought i'd invest again for my fusion kit (10,12,14,14) as they are so handy. The only initial difference from the standard pack are the ring depths. The standard packs 14" snare has a 1.5" depth. But the fusion packs 14" snare has a 1" depth. Just means slightly less dampening, but as the other 14" floor tom has a 1.5" depth, i can always swap them over if i need more snare dampening.. But as my first review for the standard pack said, very handy at muting those unwanted overtones, especially if your set up in a small room.. And leaving the kit set up for a long time, just leave these on the drums. As other people have mentioned, if handled all the time there could be a possibilty of accidently putting a crease in them.

This product is way too essential to be missing in any serious drummers accessories even if you're a professional and you know how to tune a drum, you must have this in your kit. They work so well on toms especially on a floor tom, my floor tom now growls. This product is best on toms and they make them look beautiful.

Have never ued these before and wondered if they would work but they do exactly as it says. It dampens the sound but gives the drum a nice tone! Very ueful in small venues or at practice. To be honest I was amazed! Well worth the money.

I chose the fusion pack for use on 10 and 14 inch toms (the 12 inch ring is redundant with my set-up). I now have 2 levels of reduction of harmonics on DW jazz toms by using the 1 inch ring on the floor bass and the tom un-muted, and 1 and 1.5 inch rings on Tom and floor bass respectively. These allow the character of the drums to come through and work beautifully. Exceptional value at £6.50 a set.
