Product Description

Review

'Distinguished by a preparedness to engage the wider intellectual and contextual issues which are so necessary for a proper appreciation of the 'new' Europe and its legal system, European Union Law: Text and Materials is a well-written and thoroughly comprehensive text; one which promises to assume a prominent position in the law school classroom.' Prof. Ian Ward,The University of Newcastle

'The authors of this book provide a clear synopsis and a penetrating analysis of European Union law and an edifying overview of its social, political and economic context and consequences. As the book addresses these wider background issues, it would be a stimulating and thought-provoking addition to the reading list of any law student. … The critical approach combined with the sharp analysis of European Union law and the topical explanation of the wider contextual issues make this book essential reading for undergraduates and experienced researchers alike.' European Constitutional Law Review

Format: Paperback
This is the second best textbook on the topic. Off course, the first one is P.P. Craig and Grainne De Burca's EU Law, 3rd Ed. But since Craig&De Burca's book is becoming a little outdated because the last edition came out in 2003, I strongly recommend this book for all European Union Law students (till the new edition of Craig&De Burca's book :-) )... Chalmers' book is well laid out, accessible and comprehensive. Definitely worth buying specially if you are studying EU law at graduate level...Another good thing about it is that, all chapters also refer to the concerning provisions of draft constitution.

I recieved this book on time, it arrived in almost perfect condition, the only thing is it is a first edition. It bears the same cover picture as the second edition (the one I needed) but unfortunately I didn't check beyond that. A rookie error I intend not to make again. Tip: make sure the book you are buying is the one you need/want.

Interesting and scholarly collaborative take on undergrad. Euro law; my only complaint concerns the paper -- it's heavy and shiny and I don't like it! Apart from that it's all good!
[Change the paper for 2e ...... please, please, pretty please.]
