Enjoyable movie for a low budget indi production, however I got this thinking that my player could play it ha sit can handle multi regions, however it seems that only applies to the DVD side not the Blu-Ray portion. Oh well my bad. The disc arrived in good time and was well packaged.

This ambitious low-budget SF documentary-style edited ‘sent footage’ movie is an admirable attempt to depict the reality of what a doomed mission to one of Jupiter’s moons might look like. Its understated and ‘matter-of-fact’ depiction of a privately-funded crewed expedition to Europa to investigate the possible existence of life beneath its icy surface is certainly plausible as it contains minimal erratic hand-carrying camerawork, preferring to rely on fixed interior recording devices located within the spaceship. The narrative will be familiar to those well-versed with spaceship movies where a series of technical glitches accompanied by human error plunges the crew into extreme danger. However, in this case the crew’s response is not only practical but also contemplative and philosophical, an acceptance that their deaths are an occupational hazard in the continuing quest to further expand humankind’s knowledge. The skillful cinematography effectively conveys both the claustrophobia of tight, lived-in spaces and also the infinity beyond the confines of the spaceship, and although lacking the stylish visuals of Gravity or Sunshine this is definitely a film to seek out.

rather good special effects but it's let down by a poor story line

this isnt a big budget sci fi epic, and it's not really a hideous monster 'alien' type movie either. in many ways it's a quite understated film with an adequate plot that chugs along and sets and acting that are ok. but what made this german movie for me (it has an english language option) was the ending. the last scenes are profound and what good serious sci fi should be about.

Poor buy. German/Swiss edition. No English subtitles. Admittedly product description does say this - but too easy to miss owing to obscure placement.Read more
Not great. The 3d was poor. my TV can convert to 3d on the fly. I would say someone used this to convert this video. I don't believe it was native 3d.Read more
Great indie film, would recommend to anyone. I liked the neat telling of the story as a 'lost footage'.
