This book it sucked me in from the start, it was different but so good.
A girl with no one was Orphaned as an infant, she ends up being called Jane Doe and she is such a great person, she has had a s***ty past where no one really ever cared for her. I loved her character.
So good to read a book female isn’t weak girl who's frightened of her own shadow.
Then she takes a Job in Thornfield, it is an English manor turned hotel.
She meets her Boss Edward Rochester he is arrogant, Moody, and very Mysterious. Jane starts to fall for him.
But Edward has dark secrets that he will not share with Jane. It is so dark and shocking it could tear them apart forever.
Does Thornfield hold something Dark and Twisted that is lurking within it walls that Haunts Edward. Jane is determined to find out. Before anyone else gets hurt.
I loving the mystery to this book, and it has me thinking what happening what secrets are going to come out.
Hopefully we will find out what’s going on in Thornfield the screams and the whispers that Jane hears. I have so many questions. I can’t wait for book 2 in this series.
This is written from Jane Doe's pov but she addresses the reader occasionally, I thought that was a nice touch. Jane gets a job at Thornfield Manor, and her employer is none other than the dark, sexy, moody, secret holding Edward Rochester. What will happen when their paths cross? Will they be able to control their feelings? What are the secrets behind the walls of Thornfield? Soooo many questions to which some will be answered in this book but it will also form more questions for the asking! Like I said I am very intrigued and have lots of unanswered questions.
I have pre ordered the next book Paradox as it's one I do not want to miss, and I will be diving straight in as soon as it arrives on my kindle. I would definitely recommend this. It's a great start to the series! The Thornfield Affair is a modern reimagining of Charlotte Brontë’s classic Jane Eyre.
I read this on behalf of A Book Lovers Emporium.
Jane and Mr. Rochester told in a modern setting is something I was intrigued by completely. When it came time to dive into the story I was filled with anticipation which may be the reason it seemed to move slowly for me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed and devoured every word but the pace was slow & steady. Jane was tough and this version seemed more likable to me than the past versions I have seen portrayed on screen in a classical setting. We all know the story so I won't spoil everything by revealing the modernization but I enjoyed every word, every letter and am on tenterhooks for the next book.
My heart broke for Jane Doe. She has gone through so much heartache though thankfully she's strong and she has survived. Now she finds herself at Thornfield and working for the moody and arrogant Edward Rochester. She certainly gets more than she bargained for with him. Both fight their feelings and emotions but will the heart or their head win through.
I've got to admit I haven't read many classics but after reading this modern version of Jane Eyre my interest has certainly piqued.
I'm so looking forward to reading more of Jane and Edwards story.
This was a great read, I was enthralled! I was actually whisked away to a Wuthering Heights time but a time where they had ipads and sketchy internet!
So many questions I want answering! But the lingering question on my mind...who the heck is Grace Poole?!!
This is a book I wasn't so sure about at first from reading the blurb but I love this author's other work so I was willing to give it ago. This is a modern take on Jane Eyre which I don't usually like but this author does it really well. I loved the modern twist of it but was a drawback for me was I didn't like the old style writing of it, I felt the writing needed a modern update to go with the story. That been said I'm looking forward to the next one and to see where else this goes.
