Why these guys arent famous yet i will never know. This cd is a compilation of rare b sides, singles, alternate versions and cover versions. It may seem fans only, but some of the stuff on here is amazing! New Order's 'Regret' is fantastic, as is the cover of the Pixies 'Alec Eiffel'. This band take the songs of others and make them their own. As it is a compilation lp, it doesnt really flow together as a collection, yet all the songs are brilliant in their own right. If you aint heard of them, check out 'Something to Write Home About', if you are a fan, you are gonna love this! These boys deserve to be huuuuuggggeee...

This is excellent. I've been waiting for this album for months. This band are excellent yet so unheard of. Why? This album contains music from throughout their musical career, old songs and new. It's a collection of unheard stuff with items only available on the 7" records. You'll like this band if you like anything slightly punky/emo. These rock and despite being so unheard of, are my favourite band. The music they make is the kind that keeps you happy when you're low and gets you happier when you feel good. Don't pass up an opportunity to buy this album or anything else by the Get Up Kids.

A nice collection of b-sides and rare tracks.

Not a good place to start if you are new to the get up kids ('something to write home about' is a good start), but a very solid compilation featuring some great covers of among others the Cure.

A Must for those already hooked on their sweet melodies and pop rock glories.

For fans of: Dashboard Confessional, Weezer, Saves The Day, Death Cab For Cutie

HASH(0x959b2c54) out of 5 stars Great Album from a Great Band 30 Nov. 2001
By Sean - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Although it's not the best release from the get up kids, it is one that hardcore fams that don't own all the 7's will want to pick up. Hell, I'd pay 13 bucks just to have the breathing method and up on the roof *(the two best songs on the album). But if you are looking to buy an album by the get up kids, pick up somthing to write home about first.

HASH(0x959b2ca8) out of 5 stars Familiar but at the same time refreshing... 2 Dec. 2001
By Ocelot - Published on Amazon.com

Ok when we sit here and look at the tracklisting for this release... you'll say to yourself, i've heard most of these songs. That's what i thought when i got it, but then i listened to it and it's surprisingly refreshing. Sure there are some old songs on here but they all sound different enough to find them refreshing. Plus the unreleased stuff is great like Central Standard Time, Up On the Roof, Impossible Outcomes. If you people haven't already downloaded some of these songs from somewhere then you are in for a treat. Newfound Mass 2000 is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard. It's almost 60 minutes of a good time all the way through. I recommend this album just for the unreleased stuff. The different versions of older songs are just cherries on top especially Ten Minutes. Can't get enough of that guitar solo! I'm giving it four stars just because i wouldn't really call it a new album by them. I take it more like a little snack before their new album comes out mid next year!

HASH(0x959be0fc) out of 5 stars Can I give this 8 stars? 5 is simply not enough. 7 May 2003
By Andrew High - Published on Amazon.com

I must say, in writing this review I am unwaveringly biased, in my own humble opinion everything this band touches turns to gold. And, as a fan it is really nice to have the b-sides, compilation tracks, import only tracks, and covers brought together, so as to avoid extensive searching.
This album houses some of TGUK's brightest moments. There is an insanely distinct variation of moods and melodies on this album and some of the stand out tracks, and my personal favorites are: Up on the roof, (Cure's cover) Close to Me, Sufrogate City, Alec Eiffel, Impossible Outcomes, Shorty, and On with the Show.
Impossible Outcomes is one of my favorite songs of all time, it transcends so many different qualities i yearn for in music and does so flawflessy and effortlessly. The vocals seem to float above the melodies yet have a seemless integration that makes me shout this chorus whenever and wherever the track graces my ears. I would spend 15 dollars just for this song, and with that purchase you get 16 other rockin joints for free....so, leave now and don't return until you own this album....

HASH(0x959be4c8) out of 5 stars Sincerely Feelings 10 Oct. 2002
By Mauricio - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Well, I see everybody saying a lot of bad things about this record. Their covers are just beautiful...especially when they transform eletronic based musics like New Order's Regret and Cure's Close to me...the way they just made with guitars...its awesome...and what I like the most in this record, and probably in the band...is the way they express feelings so well...in Forgive and Forget...Shorty...Central Standard Time....Im a Loner Dottie a Rebel...it's all good....and even the slowest ones like Newfound Mass and The Breathing Method can keep u up...it surely worth every penny u spent on it...and if u dont have it...what r u waiting for?

HASH(0x959be5ac) out of 5 stars Worth every penny 7 Jan. 2002

If you like the Get Up Kids, buy this cd. If you like Get Up Kids styled emo, buy this cd. If you like rock music, buy this CD. If you like bands such as Motley Crue or the Cure whom TGUK covered, buy this cd
A great collection of songs that will never get old. A great release from TGUK. Good to tide you over til their next album comes out.
