Product Description

About the Author

From a young age L.J. Stock was led by her imagination. From the moment she could read she fell into worlds where trees could talk and little girls could move things with their minds. In no hurry to grow up, she found stories all around her, in the forests of Plym Bridge, the moss covered hills of Dartmoor, then, as she grew older, the wide spread city of Houston, where she currently resides and works. A constant daydreamer, she hopes that one day, her passion can become something more than just a hobby for her. Still led by her imagination, the worlds have slowly grown from childish adventures to urban fantasies and romances. With inspirational authors such as Enid Blyton, Roald Dahl, Judy Blume, John Grisham and Stephen King guiding her through her life so far, L.J. Stock has finally decided that it is time for her to go for gold and try land herself on someone else's future list of favorites. Putting words on paper is as essential as breathing to her, but on the rare occasions that she isn't writing, she can be found with a video game remote in hand or curled up on the couch with her pup and a good book. Music is also such an important part of her life, it's a wonder there isn't a background soundtrack playing wherever she goes. A good girl to most, a bad girl to a few, L.J. believes that every genre should be attempted and is more than likely to have tried to release three hundred series' ranging from vampires and werewolves, to dystopian and even classic romance, before she reaches even middle age. At least, that's the plan for now.

Where to begin telling you how utterly brilliant this book is...?

From the moment you turn the first page, you are dragged into Ethan's world by the throat and pulled along for a ride that has so many twists and turns it makes your head spin.

This book doesn't shy away from the darker themes it tackles, taking each one and bringing it to life with such forceful reality that when you look up from reading and realise you're not actually there with him, it comes as quite the surprise. The way L. J. Stock weaves her words around the tragic and often harrowing parts of Ethan's life has the reader feeling everything he feels right along with him.

It's not an easy feat for an author to tackle issues like grief and loss, drug addiction and fighting your way back up from rock bottom, but L. J does it with a finesse that can only come from the talent she so clearly has. Every word she writes turns to gold, and I am beyond excited to see what her magical fingers turn out next.

While the book deals with serious issues that affect far too many people with sensitivity and honesty, L. J. somehow manages to bright slashes of humour and light to the darkness Ethan faces. The supporting characters in his story are well developed and by turns loveable and capable of making you want to throw things.

You will fall in love with Scott, Ethan's best friend who sees him through the toughest times in his life with unfaltering loyalty. You will undoubtedly despise several of the characters as well, but I won't ruin any of them with spoilers here.

Brace yourself for an incredible ride filled with laughter, tears, frustration, anger and, if I'm being honest, sometimes it's also hot as hell! You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you just might look at the world a little differently when you're finished. I know I did.

Congratulations on another fantastic achievement, L.J!

Having read this book twice already, it's safe to say that it definitely hit my five star markings. Holy cow!

Ethan freakin Walker!! *fans face*

Ethan Walker suffered loss and struggled through life with his own battles that only he could control (I won't mention who or what as to not give away any spoilers)

This story had me reeled in from the start and I struggled to put this little beauty down even to feed my kiddies. Oops, sorry kids. Mummy really does love you.

Ethan is hot! There is no doubt about it. Pure and simple. That isn't what made this story, though. No, it was the beauty of the writing in which L J mastered perfectly. Simply stunning and heartbreaking. I felt every emotion and shed a few ugly tears along the way.

Being a huge fan of book one and two in the Road to Wonderland series, book three did not disappoint me. It was filled with love, loss, amazing friendships and laugher.

For those of you who enjoyed the first two in the series, this one is a must read.

I've followed the Road to Wonderland series from the very beginning, from starting as a Role Play group on Twitter to being released into books. This is the third book in the series and each book is told from a different characters POV.

Ethan has always been a character I have liked, but from afar. He has a very confident 'LAD' attitude about him, is a huge flirt and can at times come across as a cock sure arse at times, but there has always been another side to him. He's damaged, but has fought some harrowing battles to get where he is. He hides his heart from the world so getting to read a whole book from inside his head allowed me to finally understand his character.

This book delves into the world of drug addiction and loss. The further Ethan falls, the more you are hoping he'll find his way back on the path in life he was destined for.

I won't give anything away about what happens in the book as I truly recommend you read it. What I will say is the author pays fantastic attention to detail, every physical and mental feeling the character lives through, you do too and if you can read this book without shedding a few tears then I will be very surprised.

This story deserves every one of it's five bright shining stars

Book 3 of the Road to Wonderland series is finally here and anyone who knows me even a little bit will be expecting what I'm about to say.

Ethan Walker is perfect.

I don't just mean a little bit... or close to perfect... I mean ACTUALLY perfect. L.J. Stock does a phenomenal job of bringing such a modern-day hero to life.

Ethan's life has been fairly average at the very start of the book. A typical 19-year-old boy with the world at his feet, he likes to party hard and deal with the consequences later. It's not that he doesn't think he's an adult yet, it's just that he doesn't have to act like one. Mainly because of the love his mother shows to him. She makes him feel secure, so he is... at least for a short while.

When his worst nightmare suddenly becomes his reality, Ethan is given a baptism of fire in to adulthood. He isn't just thrown in at the deep end. The devil has strapped a brick to his ankle and is pouring chlorine into the pool by the bucket load. With his younger brother, Dean, to look out for, Ethan has no choice but to finally grown into his skin and become a man. Only it isn't always that simple, and just like with Izzy and Paris in book one and two of this series, Ethan has people out there waiting for him in the big, bad world. People who want to corrupt him, seduce him and watch as he falls to his knees.

This story has you on the edge of your seat from the very first sentence, and I'm not just saying that. L.J. Stock completely and utterly nails the emotions of grief, responsibility vs selfishness, anger, betrayal, suffocation and even a little bit of mystery along the way. As the synopsis says, there's one constant light, beside his best friend and brother, as Ethan stumbles his way down the road he didn't expect to take...
