I LOVE reading romance books by UK authors, I find their humour and wit so much dryer and sharper and I don't know how to explain it properly but they tend to be more down to earth in their writing, more believable as if what they are writing could actually happen and they include little things that happen to most of us every day that we can actually assimilate with.
This little gem of a romcom did not let me down, a pleasant little read with ample humour, a little smut and a touch of drama (and drama queen) thrown in to round it off.
So far I have only found a few British romance authors, Samantha Towle, Colleen Hoover, L A Casey and now Tillie Cole, any recommendations would be greatly received (no S&M or dom and sub recommendations please, they're not really my thing, where as alpha males with sassy females are!)
I loved every word of this book, im not sure if it was just me being a Brit, but i read everyone of Natasha's words with a Geordie accent in my head.
Eternally North is one of those books that is a hilarious romantic journey that will leave you with the warm and fuzzies after you have read it. After having read a run of deep, dark, heavy story lines lately i wanted something to lighten the mood, this book hit the nail on the head for me no doubt.
Natasha is one of those characters you instantly like from the get go, her little nuggets of Geordie wisdom had me laughing out loud, that and her best friend Tink loved his glitter spewing mouth so much.
Tink and Tash's friendship was brilliant i loved how it was described that they were soul mates. There fun banter and crazy nick names were just fantastic, it showed how much love two people can have for one another and not be in a relationship or be family, that friendship really can run that deep.
I liked how the story started off slow and gained speed with each turn of he page.
Tash and Tudor were made for each other, shes is an outgoing and in your face Geordie lass but not with out some small insecurities, hes a very private closed off person but hes in the limelight front and center for all to see. They perfectly balance each other out.
One of my fav things about Natasha is the way she speaks and thinks
"If there's a sure-fire way to stop the awe of meeting a celeb, it was for them to be a complete and utter twat."
I Liked that Natasha had a good job, friends, family no real issues no angst ridden past, that it was Tudor that had the troubles was so refreshing, this massive guy was knocked on his ass by circumstances and it was a regular girl that pulled him out of the darkness.
I love the idea of a regular, curvy, average Geordie lass winning the heart of a huge muscle bound, tattooed, Hollywood movie star god, it gives us all a little bit of hope that there is someone out there for everyone.
I am addicted to Tillie Cole's amazing storytelling, her wonderful likable lovable characters, with there great sense of humor thrown in for good measure. I definitely will be reading more of her crazy, sweet off the charts romance novels, each and every book i read from this great author blows me away.
It followed a friends to lovers type plot, one of my favourite story set ups, and they had great chemistry. Tudor was holding back and actually, the reason for that was pretty inventive.
Although this didn't end on a cliffhanger, it felt unfinished to me - I was hoping for an epilogue but there wasn't one.
This story was a good balance of funny, sexy, romance and a little light angst. Recommended.
I cannot wait for the sequel, if it is half as food as Eternally North it's going to be a winner. Tilly you knocked this one out of the the Toon girlie.
Natasha POV, who after a traumatic breakup moves away to Canada with her friend Tink. Tink her super gay best friend who cherishes and protects her. The book has some funny moments from the two fun loving Geordie pair. Natasha falls in love with an actor Tudor. Tudor is hiding a secret one that may tear them apart. Natasha believes that honesty and trust is the foundation of a good solid relationship. So there is a decision to be made
It's highly recommended.
