Zakk Wylde, Ozzy Osbournes guitarist of choice for many a year, returns with this, the third album from the powerhouse rock outfit Black Label Society. From the opener Bleed For Me its clear that this is a similar progression as evident between Sonic Brew and Stronger Than Death, the previous two albums. The songs show more depth here than before with much more emphasis on the vocals and melody, Mr Wyldes voice is clearly getting stronger. Dare I say that with 1919 Eternal (a reference to Zakks father's birthdate)the sound is more mature? The guitar playing throughout is mind bending and will have you reaching for your air axe of choice within minutes. Some surprises are in store with a soulful ballad and on some songs a very real Sabbath influence. This is pulled off without sounding dated or tired. Not just a release for SDMF's exclusively but a damn good rock album that should see the Society adding to its following worldwide. Especially in light of their inclusion on this years Ozzfest bill once again.
I highly reccomend this to rock music fans eveywhere, buy it now, you won't regret it.

Another gr8 cd by ZAKK WYLDE EX OZZY GEETARIST. This 1 is dedicated to his grandfather who fought in world war 1. Its gr8 modern metal heavy but melodic and the songs vary so its not boring. This cd cost me less than £2 so a bargain.

This is a fantastic album. Zakk wylde is by far a totally underated guitarist in my opinion. The opening track 'Bleed for Me'will blow you away, then there a couple of tracks 'Demise of Sanity' and 'Life, Birth, Blood, doom' on which Robert Trujillo (ozzy's bassist on Down to Earth and ozzfest 2002) plays bass on, which tops it off. Great music, great musicians a fantastic album! It's must have album for any rock fan!

This album deserves to go down in history as one of the best! Zakk Wylde is a legend. His guitaring is awesome, his vocals are great and his song-writing is on par with the all-time greats. The best song for me on this album is 'Bridge To Cross' because it's moving and and extremely well written. The solo is fantastic, as in all these songs. Zakk delivers what nu-skool 'rockers' don't... guitaring, singing and good songs! Buy this album and turn it up!

A good run of the mill metal album, with a few standouts - and they do stand out. 'Bridge To Cross' is a beautiful song with a suberb solo, and 'Bleed For Me' is good also. However, the vocals are sometimes perhaps below standard, and I'd easily reccomend 'The Blessed Hellride' over this, but if you like rock and like Zakk Wyldes stuff with Ozzy then buy this album for 'Bridge to Cross' alone.
However, for people who aren't Z.W devotees, the shredding may get annoying after a while - this is something he's improved with newer stuff - the solo's have feeling in them, not just speed. Recommended, but don't expect a masterpiece.
