When I started learning Gaelic, all I had were some very old dictionaries and "Dwelly". Now Dwelly is superb one you're fluent and are looking at place names and stuff like that but if you're reading "litir do luchd-ionnsachaidh" in the Free Press or modern books, it's no use at all. Enter this dictionary. It's full of modern day idioms and up to date meanings, including IT terms. If you're a learner and are serious about being able to read Gaelic in the paper and books. Get this dictionary!

I started learning gaelic this year and have found this book and the companion Gaelic-English dictionary to be invaluable. It is up to date and even includes IT phrases and words. Essential to anyone who really wants to learn the language.

This was a good book but only useful when you knew the Gaelic word so no good if you wanted the English word translated into Gaelic. It was easy to find words and it arrived well packaged and in good time. Thanks.

This book does the job but it's not really any better than plenty other similar books out there.
