This isn't a very long book, but it clearly and simply explains what Buddhism is all about and the main principles of it. I would say it is an excellent place to start to find out what this religion (if that's what it is because the book describes it as an addition to one's own religion, which, after reading it, I can agree with). It has made me want to find out more.

I think that if this were in paper form rather than electronic it would be classed as a pamphlet. It is very basic; just a sentence or two on each of the main Buddhist tenets, the four Noble Truths and the Eight-fold Path followed by a short section on meditation. If you know nothing at all about Buddhism and want a brief definition/summary this is well worth downloading. But if you already have some basic knowledge you'll want something more substantial.

Although short this little book provides a good introduction to the history and the basic principles of Buddhism. Should you wish to know more it would be worth getting a bigger book but for an introduction it is very useful as it covers:-
The essence of Buddhism
The Four Noble Truths
The eight-fold path
Meditation Practice

I love this short book on my kindle and never comes off the carousel.it serves as a great reminder about the "essence of what buddhism is about" well done to the author for cramming in lots of information in ordinary speak in such a concise book.
Wish you could buy it in paperback also.
Thanks

Firstly, forget the negative reviews. The book is free and provides a valuable insight into Buddhism and Meditation. If this is what you need as a starting point, this book is extremely helpful in providing that information. If, like myself, you have a deeper interest in the concepts and traditions of the Buddhist ethos, you can move on from this, to other publications. Well written and a pleasure to read. Thank you.

It is good of the author to offer this as a free download.

It is nicely formatted and give a decent introduction to Buddhism including the Four Noble Truths and the eight-fold path.

It is very short so you could almost certainly get all of this online for free. However the Kindle is a good device for this sort of thing as you can use it as a quick and easy reference.

The section of meditation was useful.

A quick read of about half hour. This book explains in simple every day language what is the basic essential of Budhism. Very interesting and nice quotes. I received mine on kindle as I don't like a lot of books filling the house.

It would be extremely helpful to me if you hit the YES button if you liked my review or NO with a comment so I can improve future reviews.

This is a superb introduction to an oddly misunderstood "religion". It outlines the basic tenets of the belief system, stressing the fact that it is, arguably, a philosophy or life-style credo rather than a full-blown religion. There are, after all, Christian Buddhists, Pagan Buddhists and many others. I found this book fascinating because it lays so many misconceptions and highlights so many choices that a follower of the Buddhist philosophy has to make, including the question of vegetarianism. It has provoked many questions that I am still trying to resolve, but it has also placed my feet firmly on the path towards finding my true self.
