This books suffers from two main problems. First, Esperanto itself. It's hard in this relatively short book to learn correct pronunciations. You see"scienco" and you think that must be "sy-ens-o" but in fact you forget that Dr Zamenhof came from the land of bortchsh and Przewalski and it is "s-ts-ien-tso".
Second, Zaft, the author of this book is an American, and sees everything through the colours of his own flag. He writes with amazement at the idea that anyone could ever speak fluently in a foreign language.
That said, this book is an excellent introduction to the language, its context and its culture, and I for one don't regret the minimal price I paid for it on kindle.
