Franz-Josef Klenke arbeitet als Redenschreiber für den Außenminister Hans Behring und begleitet ihn regelmäßig auf seinen Auslandsreisen. Er tut alles, um den integren Mann gut dastehen zu lassen, wozu auch gehört, dass man in Reden zwar nicht unbedingt die Unwahrheit sagt, aber manche Wahrheit auch nicht ausspricht. Doch ausgerechnet Klenke, ein Mann des Worts, liebt Maria, die nicht sprechen kann. Und das sorgt immer wieder für Probleme. 

Als die Delegation zu einer Reise nach Marokko aufbricht, um dort über ein Rücknahmeabkommen für illegale Flüchtlinge zu verhandeln, erwartet sie dort der Diplomat Cornelius von Schröder. Er hat seine eigenen Ansichten zum Thema Migration – und eine Agenda, von der niemand etwas ahnt.

    Ein klasse Buch von Sönke Wortmann. Der Leser merkt sofort, hier hat sich jemand Gedanken zur Welt und seiner immer wiederkehrenden Ereignisse gemacht. Er beschreibt Probleme und Krankheiten von Menschen ohne große Hoffnung auf Heilung. Ebenso beschreibt er soziale Verhältnisse wie Flüchtlingskrise, Wohlstandgefälle und Klimaveränderungen ohne auf eine Lösung abzuzielen. Am Ende des Romans gibt er jedoch einen kleinen Lichtblick, ein Unschuldiger wird durch einen Schrei gerettet, der eigentlich nicht hätte stattfinden können oder sollen. Doch nur ein einziger wird gerettet, das System bleibt so wie es ist. Sönke Wortmann überlässt dem Leser ein Urteil. Weiter so.

    Hatte mir von dem Mann, der so schöne Geschichten in seinen Filmen erzählt mehr erhofft. Dieser Roman hat eigentlich keine Handlung, er soll wohl politisch belehren. Querdenker lesen das nicht und Leute, die die Meinung des Autors teilen, brauchen das nicht. Langweilig und überflüssig.
