Product Description

Series 2 picks up four months after the end of the first. Sean and Beverly’s marriage has been blown apart by Beverly’s fling with Matt, and Matt’s friendship with Sean appears to be beyond salvage. But as their sitcom “Pucks!” is about to premiere, all three are forced to find a way to continue working together. As the series progresses, we are plunged deeper into the twisted world of making television. It’s a portrait gallery of megalomaniac network executives, surgically-enhanced actresses and naked stalkers who appear unexpectedly in your kitchen. Through it all, Sean and Beverly struggle to rediscover the love they had when they started their American adventure, while Matt struggles to reclaim the stardom that was once his.

Episodes is a show that gives you a comedic, and, I have no doubt in some cases, a surprisingly real look at how the TV industry works and how shows can be destroyed by the TV stars and network executives involved.

Having read the reviews posted already, I'm not sure why people disliked series 1. Series 2 picks up 4 months later with Sean and Beverly now seperated but still having to work together on Pucks!, the US remake of their British TV show. The ups and downs of their show, and the people around them, provides so much laughter thoughout all 9 episodes of the series. If it's done right, I hope we get a series 3. But if it is the end as the last episode indicates it might be, then I recommend everyone buy both series of the hilarious Episodes.

Great acting from a fantastic ensemble cast, great scripts, and a hoot from beginning to end of each episode. No wonder it's been so universally praised in the US - shame it seems to have been flying rather under the radar over here.

Matt LeBlanc is superb in a caricature (or maybe not?) of himself and Mircea Monroe is delicious as the somewhat duplicitous network exec. Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan are likeable and amusing in the "innocents abroad" roles, moving continually between being bemused and outraged at the goings-on around them.

Altogether greatly enjoyable and very much recommended.

Loved this, more than series 1. The main cast members are all wonderful. I have always had huge respect for Tamsin Greig, but Matt LeBlanc gives a genuinely great performance too. The fight between him and Stephen Mangan has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Matt Le Blanc is more outrageous than in season 1 and hilarious as his 'real self'. Just as many laughs in this second season, really hope that there will be more to come.

I love this show. It is so funny, not laugh out loud (although there are some of those moments) its more clever, sophisticated humour. Matt le Blanc is amazing in this, he really shows he can do more than just be Joey, he's actually a brilliant actor. There are also some great performances from the supporting cast especially the actress who plays Carole - she deserves to be a huge star.
It seems like its been left open for a 3rd series, so fingers crossed!!

The first series was a great introduction to a whole bunch of fish out of water characters and a very brave Matt LeBlanc playing "himself" in all his Hollywood-phoney glory. The second series continues the snappy writing, great (although often morally repugnant) characters and hilarious Hollywood-isms! It plays with the characters a little more than the first series and has a slightly darker tone maybe, but is still utterly enjoyable.

Highly recommended!

I love this programme! It's a gently satirical view of Hollywood, which makes a few interesting observations about the differences between British and American attitudes to life. The performances are excellent.
