This bag - which is fairly large in size, is made from a robust material and comes with straps to either fashion as a carry bag, or as a backpack - although given it’s construction it can get a bit sweaty if you’re going long distances in warm weather. The idea is that you have to fold over the top section to ‘close’ it, but as to whether that makes it fully waterproof I would highly doubt. I won’t be taking it on the lake, but I have used it on some hikes and camping trips where it did its duty well enough. I have also taken it to the seaside where it contained all our gubbins better than the lightweight ‘swim bag’ that we normally take, although the drawstring straps and super-lightweight nature of the swim bag was nicer to carry around on my back without giving me the sweaty back/arms that this thing does.
I’m not so sure I’m keen on the bold brand logo though, as I don’t really want to be a walking advert, and the big ‘20’ on the side to highlight its capacity is a bit superfluous.
Overall if you are looking for a carry bag that can fit quite a lot in and needs to keep the contents relatively dry, and might be carried on your back occasionally then this is a good place to start.
A small, strong dry back with roll over top and either a rucksack style of carrying or grab handle to choose from.
This is a sausage shaped bag, it is made from very strong waterproof material, with reinforced stitching and seams. The top of the bag is reinforced with a two metal strips to add strength and ease the rolling down to close the bag.
The rucksack straps are unpadded, simple straps which can be removed for washing/drying/storage/ because you want to use the carry handle.
Closing the bag is done by rolling the strips over and then folding themtowards each other and clipping them in place with the clips on the end.... simple but it does reduce the capacity of the bag.
It is very waterproof, as in wade through a stream with this on your back and it’s fine waterproof, the top is the weak point, but with a few rolls over even that kept my hose pipes jet out.
What I don’t like.
The large inescapable branding.
A plain black bag is discreet, a plain black bag with large white lettering on it is not. I understand the need to put a company logo on a product but this should be smaller in items like this, or maybe in shiny black, but the huge logo spoils the look here...not the important stuff but it’s stil a niggle.
That said, this is light and easy to carry. Ideal to sling dirty football boots in after football - the bag can be easily washed out - or to keep towels, or electronic things, dry at the beach. One of the minus points about this, is there are no inner pockets, to keep smaller items. Still, as a beach bag, this is ideal. We took it for a day out at the beach and it kept sand and water at bay, keeping spare clothes, towels, phones and camera dry and clean. This is something we will use often and it is capable of holding heavy weights, while being comfortable to carry.
