Entrepreneur Revolution: How to Develop your Entrepreneurial Mindset and Start a Business that Works Paperback – 8 Jun 2018

This is a really interesting and helpful book. Daniel starts off with sharing his insights about how 'Workers', with their roots in the industrial revolution and conditioned by today's society, can break free. His argument is based around technology and convergence (where technologies bump into each other), for example the relatively new market for reading or listening to books on a smart phone, tablet or PC. I was surprised that the fax machine wasn't on his historical list. I found this section a bit tongue in cheek as I can never see a time when goods are not manufactured and it's difficult to automate everything, so workers will be required.

I nearly stopped reading it, but I'm so glad I didn't as from this point on the book got better and better.

Daniel then moves on explain how we can take advantage of this revolution and covers the psychology of Entrepreneurship; monkey brains and the like, which is interesting but has been done to death elsewhere.

He then describes business strategies which are straightforward. These made a great deal of sense to me. The gist of it is that for a business to become really valuable it has to be scaleable. This is the ability to grow exponentially and not be restricted to a small geographic market, so that the business has the ability to grow and grow without the owner being present. If you have ever watched 'Dragon's Den', you will know exactly what I mean. Daniel describes how this can be achieved in a very practical and straightforward manner.

This is a well written and thought out book, full of great ideas that most business people could put into practice straight away, and that to me is the strength and value in Daniel's writing. I particularly like his section about business maxims; a common sense version of vision and mission if you like. They are designed to keep the entrepreneur and team on the same page, going in the same direction.

I LOVED No 1. “You get what you pitch for...and you are always pitching”. It initially sounds too simple and a bit flim flam, but Daniel gets under skin of it. If you say something for long enough you will eventually believe it and those around you will pass comment to support it. So beware, because you will get what you pitch for, so better to be a glass half full kind of person!

To summarise, a very straightforward and inspiring book, written in a very conversational style. If you want to start (or develop) your own business, then I would urge you to read it, as it will stop you falling down some of the business potholes that can entrap you and give you some great direction. I'm 100% confident that any budding entrepreneurs reading Entrepreneur Revolution will find Daniel's thoughts of great value in supporting their journey. Oh, and I marked it with 4 rather than 5 stars because I nearly stopped reading it after the first section - I’m so glad that I kept going!

I have always wanted to gain as much as possible from life, people laugh and put me down without even realising what is going on in my head. I have always wanted to be successful in life and want to be remembered internatialy, even wold wide! This book has changed the ways I think, blocked out the non believers and has completely refreshed my mind with hope, belief and even strength.
I am a labourer on minimum wage and I do not let the job I have put me down because every day I know one day I will the man I want to be and that day is very soon I can feel it.

Just finished. One of the best personal development book I read. It is one of those books you might need to revisit after a while. You don't have to agree with everything that he mentioned in the book but it will definitely shine some new lights on your "idea of how to build a successful business". Recommend to those who looking forward to having their own company one day. Keep your dream alive!

Love this book, one of his best pieces of work so far. I read plenty of business books and this is one of those books I have constantly highlighted and underlined. Will be revisiting this book many times over. If your are starting a business, especially a business that you can operate online, this book gives a great framework to building your business in the new wave of entrepreneurship. Also Daniel helps you to look at your business and the marketplace in a new way that fits these changing times.

I bought this book thinking I already know much of what entrepreneurship is all about – I was wrong!
Daniel Priestley covers the subject with extreme clarity giving both an historical perspective of work and how this new Entrepreneurial Revolution is changing everything we have taken for granted since the industrial revolution.
We need to think differently and work differently to take advantage of the opportunities that are available today.
The 2 key concepts that blew my mind are: ‘Income follows assets’ and the ‘Key Person of Influence’. I now look at businesses in a whole new way.
This book is essential reading for anyone aspiring to be an entrepreneur or needing to improve an existing business or even just to really understand how this revolution will affect us all.

This book is mind blowing!!!

It truly exceeded my expectations. It gave me various insights on skills and abilities that are paramount in the 21st century in order to not only grow your business but to stay in business by adapting ourselves on how it changes. It shows us how to grow our mindset on all levels and stop complaining of the current status quo but to act upon it and to keep pitching. Nevertheless,it tells how we are taught by society to have a greedy mindset, our sense of entitlements and many other aspects that we acquired from society and should get rid of it right away if we really want to be part of the entrepreneur revolution. It is a lot to grasp in only one read and that is why it is the perfect book to have for anyone who is starting a business, it is cuts to the chase and doesn't get boring at any moment.
