Using intelligent smart technology, the Energizer Intelligent Charger can tell you when your rechargeable batteries will be fully charged — so you can leave them to it. It tells you how full your rechargeable batteries are — so you always have enough power for the job and if your rechargeable batteries can still receive a charge — so you know when to replace them. When a non-rechargeable, or old battery is in the charger — a red X instantly appears. The Energizer Intelligent Charger charges four AA, or AAA, rechargeable batteries in 3 to 6 hours. I love this item.
I recently bought a minidisc player (kind of outdated I know), because I missed the physicality of handling my music (whereas on iPod I don't need to actually do anything to change my music as it's all there, and this has made me a lot less fussy because I know I can fit it on my iPod... Blah blah, less tangent more review... Maybe I'll go back to it.). The minidisc player required 1 AA battery, and as I didn't see much point in buying lots of batteries, I opted for the rechargeable variety. Safe to say this charger does exactly what it says on the tin, The LED display is clear as day and nice and bright (for those late night battery check-ups), and is very easy to understand (a big number comes up from 0-5 hrs and that is the length of time needed to recharge your batteries fully). No faff, simply plug it in, and bam, there you have yourself a battery charger, and the charge time is pretty good too! I know this won't concern most, but it actually looks kinda cool, it is well styled considering it's functionality... Well done Energizer... Well done. As well as the bonus of 4 AA batteries this really was a no brainer for me... I would highly recommend this product to anybody looking for an item of this nature.

This little charger is great. I've just bought it to replace the one that I lost during a house move - read a few reviews, looked at the price and chose it.

It charges up to 4 off AA or AAA Batteries at a time and tells you how long it will be until they're done.

There's a few people moaning that it's not a smart charger or what have you, but at the end of the day, it's only £15 and comes with 4 reasonably high capacity batteries.

If you want good value for money, a charger that does what it's supposed to and does it quickly (I've barely owned it 24hrs and I've already charged 2 full sets of AA batteries, had a sleep and been to work in that time) :o) then I would recommend this charger.

My old UniRoss charger has stopped working properly, so I decided upgrade. Perhaps not as smart as I expected, this charger is ideal for Ni-MH batteries, but unsuitable for most other types. It charges AAs at 500mA and AAAs at 220 mA – which is roughly the recommended current for these Ni-MH types but not really suitable for most other batteries. Since all of my rechargeables are Energizer or UniRoss HYBRIO Ni-MH, this charger works well for me. It works out the charge needed and tells you how long to go . It has flagged up some of my batteries as bad and needing to be discarded, which may be true however the old charger still charges them but they do not last so long.
I am sure there are smarter chargers that work for different types and more diverse sizes

It's a little clunky - it's says the batteries are all charged, but then take the batteries out and move their positions, and it says they are not charged and there's a 2 hour countdown from the internal display before they're charged. Take them out and move them around, you get 3 hours, take them out and move them around, you get an hour... this leads me to believe they aren't charging evenly (as has been mentioned in other reviews). I'm not technical enough to know why, how or if this is happening, but all I do know is, this device is sold as being an "intelligent" charger - but it seems less than accurate.

That said, the device is well packaged, well manufactured and comes with 4 x 2000ma batteries as well as the charger. After leaving them on charge for 4 hours, they powered the flash gun for which I bought them, and have so far performed as expected. Seems decent enough and wasn't expensive. But I'm just not sure how well or evenly the batteries are charging, hence the 3 star review.

Really good value, I bought these for xbox controllers and I am amazed by how long the batteries last in them. Before this I used Xbox branded rechargeable batter packs but decided to buy this as it had more uses now that I play Xbox less often. The battery charger is stylish and has a functional display to tell you when your batteries are charged or how far off charging they are. They charge up reasonably fast and the charge lasts for ages at moderate use.

I have only had this for a couple of month so can't comment on the life of the batteries. However I have been using 2 of an xbox controller and the other for my beard trimmer. They last a long time and the charger shows how much charge the batteries have as well as how long they will take to charge which is very useful.

It is always helpful to have some rechargeable batteries because some many things have batteries in them and they are always running out! These are a good set of rechargeable batteries and charger.

Excellent value battery charger that will charge 4 AA or AAA batteries from a trusted brand. It also includes 4 rechargeable batteries which makes the value even better. It takes around 4 hours to charge 4 AA batteries (product says 3-6) which is a good amount of time and shows how full each battery is throughout the charge with a countdown timer in full hours. I use the batteries in Wii remotes and they have lasted since Christmas (around 4 weeks). They are capable of being recharged 100's of times so overall it will Save £££s on batteries in the next few years.
