HASH(0x8e4cf858) out of 5 stars Fantastic! 31 May 2006
By Melissa - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Dante is a bounty hunter. He doesn't want to be a bounty hunter anymore and the money Vandergriff offers him could make this his last job. Dante has lost his own daughter, so helping Vandergriff get his estranged daughter back feels like the right thing to do.

Vandergriff gives Dante a picture of Nadia, and he is stunned by her beauty. Seeing her in person, he is overwhelmed by his attraction to her. Soon after Dante finds Nadia, her life is threatened and he helps her escape the men chasing her. When the danger has passed, Nadia's bodyguards arrive to bring her safely back home, once there, Dante meets Nadia's stepfather Nick.

The attraction between Nadia and Dante is growing and a bond is slowly forming, so when Nick offers Dante the job of being Nadia's bodyguard, he takes it as he is eager to stay with her. He realizes that this gives him the opportunity to get Nadia back to Vandergriff, but something doesn't feel right when Dante manages to deliver Nadia to the man that originally hires him. Realizing that he has made a terrible mistake, Dante now has to save Nadia and earn back her trust in the process. If he can't convince her and her family that he is on their side, the cost will be his life and Nadia's as well.

In Enemy Hands is fantastic! It is action packed and deeply sensual and I was on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last. Nadia is just as strong and smart as she is gorgeous. Dante is all Alpha male; handsome and tough, he doesn't hesitate to protect Nadia in any situation. I felt that In Enemy Hands is perfectly written. The storyline is intense and riveting, and the secondary characters are very well developed. The sexual tension between Nadia and Dante had me so eager I was panting with each kiss they shared. Michelle Perry has written a truly captivating and thrilling book with In Enemy Hands. It's a must read for any romantic suspense fan. I can't wait to read it again!

HASH(0x8e52f504) out of 5 stars A Thrilling Romantic Suspense 22 May 2006
By Angie - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
In Enemy Hands by Michelle Perry is a thrilling romantic suspense. I think this book would make a great movie because it is full of action sequences and is also a great love story. The chemistry between Dante and Nadia was there from the start. I really liked the humorous dialogue between these two. After Dante delivered Nadia into "enemy hands", I kept rooting for their safety but also that they'd reach that happily-ever-after and absolutely loved the final scenes that show this happening. I was also got a bit of an adrenaline rush from reading some of the scenes in this story. I won't include any spoilers about those scenes as that would take away the surprises Michelle Perry included in her story.

HASH(0x96d48840) out of 5 stars Not well-developed. 4 Jan. 2012

Dante was unbelievable in his job- he was easily distracted, a complete horn dog and clumsy. Also, he's not that bright. He senses something is wrong when delivering Nadia to the bad guy, but he doesn't act on his instincts at all. For a man in his position (investigative, etc) you'd think he'd be able to connect the dots more and, also, follow his instincts. I didn't believe for a second, either, that he can have no access to his kid. Seriously? Why not? How "big and bad" is this guy?

Nadia is beautiful and wild (she's sassy, smokes ciggies, has a tramp stamp) but she's really two dimensional. She has no personality to speak of beyond just being "wild child" and I didn't feel like we got to know her at all. She's like "the model" in that movie Cobra. Just along for the ride and beautiful to look at and for Dante to lust over.

I didn't notice when they fell in love period, if they ever did. They definitely feel huge lust and physical attraction to each other but that's about it. When Nadia is screaming to daddy that she loves Dante, I was literally rolling my eyes. She felt like a little teenage girl. It just didn't seem real.

There's a great plot idea here- though it is NOT original at all. Bounty hunter type man is hired to collect and deliver an innocent woman to the bad guy, but he ends up protecting her instead- I've seen the movie and read the book a few times, as have you I'm sure. But it COULD have worked in this story as there is always room for a twist. But to no avail. The writing was cheesy and amateurish. There were good parts here and there, but strung together it just made for an underdeveloped romantic suspense book.

HASH(0x91011d2c) out of 5 stars exhilarating romantic suspense 3 May 2006
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Businessman Gary Vandergriff informs bounty hunter Dante Giovanni that he needs his special services to bring his daughter Nadia home so she can be safe as Nick works illegal alien trafficking that has brought him many dangerous enemies including a lethal drug lord. Nadia lives with Gary's former wife Maria and Nick Branson in Sewanee, Tennessee. Besides the 500K fee, Dante sympathizes with Gary as the only way he hears his little girl's voice is on her mother's answering machine.

Dante rescues Nadia from thugs, which enables him to enter the highly fortified home of Nick. He soon pulls off the abduction and delivers Nadia to what he assumes is the safety of her dad. However, he quickly realizes his error and willingly risks his life to rectify what harm he has caused by delivering the woman he has fallen in love with to Gary, who has plans to use her as a disposable pawn to enact vengeance against the ex-wife he scarred and her lover.

IN ENEMY HANDS is an exhilarating romantic suspense tale starring a hero who allows his personal life to interfere with his judgment, an often used device made fresh by a strong support cast. Once he sees clearly and realizes what he has done, Dante moves heaven and earth to save Nadia's life even if it means at the cost of his own. Gary is the embodiment of pure evil and readers will find him fascinating because he seems like he has no soul. Fans will appreciate this tense thriller as first Dante and then Nadia take chances with their lives to do the right thing for love.

HASH(0x8e759b40) out of 5 stars Not great. 16 Dec. 2008

The romance was hard to buy. I never felt the two connect, and as another reviewer said, when Dante wasn't running into walls, her other bodyguards were stammering around. I never bought into the seriousness of her plight, and the fact that I didn't seen Dante or the other characters as particularly serious, made her kidnapping/troubles seem...tame.
