But that said - and trust me, it didn't take too much from the book itself, the Boys of Summer (the series indeed) tells the stories of characters we come to know and love as they travel through adolescent into early adulthood, the trials and tribulations of first and last loves, the laughter and tears, and all emotions which are so very turbulent at this era of our lives. Each of the books in the series featured a different couple from the story lines and this book two, we explore the stories of Amy and Sean (Tobys best friend from book one); even though we already had a little back ground details on their lives, An Endless Summer guides us through the moments that Amy and Sean grow closer together, and discover new aspects of each other whilst also sharing them with us, the reader. I love how CJ Duggan guides us through these awkward moments, and tension scenes leading to firm friendships that last through the years.
As usual, a completely enjoyable read - I just ate up the pages!
Amy is a pretty annoying character but that's what I found endearing about her. Sean is amazing! He's funny, charismatic, sexy and sweet.
I like how they seem all wrong for each other, and yet perfect together at the same time.
It's a fun book and one I love to reread.
Sean who is part of the Onslow boys, best friend of Toby, has really grown up as well and getting his life together when he meets Amy once again. After being thrown together when Amy needs help with the bar, and Sean is very handy at DIY, you start to see something brewing in the air. As they being to spend more and more time together, love slowly makes its way into their lives.
Even though they already know each other, they find out more as time goes by and also about themselves at the same time. This story shows the Onslow crew and how when they need each other the most they will be there, to show support and help where they can, as that is what friendship is all about. An Endless Summer shows the more vulnerable side to falling in love, how friendships can never be broken and how sometimes all you really need is a laugh with your friends to make everything better.
An Endless Summer is about Amy, she comes back from boarding school and wants to spend the summer at her families hotel. However, when she arrives she realises that things have been neglected and she makes it her mission to restore the hotel to it's former glory. Unforntunately it isn't all plain sailing...enter the Onslow Boys! Will she be able to save the hotel aswell and stop herself falling for the one man she doesn't want to fall for?
I adored "The Boys of Summer" so I jumped at the chance to read an ARC copy of An Endless Summer for author. I really liked the first book but it was slow starter. And this seems to have been the same. It took a few chapters for me to get completely hooked onto the story. However, once I did I love it. Amy has grown up since the first book and she is so funny. The chemistry between her and Sean was sizzling. I liked Amy. But I LOVED Sean!! He is so adorable. He is so easy going and fun natured. He is sexy as hell and he knows it but he is big headed like most guys who know they are hot. He is really down to earth.
As I said An Endless Summer was a bit of a slow starter. It didn't grab me straight away. It took me a few chapters to warm up to the story and once I did. I was in love. It was such a great summer read. With the right mix of drama, romance and humour. The author really knows how to tell a good story and keep the readers gripped until the end.
I highly recommend The Summer series to anyone who loves a fun, light summer story that has yummy men and strong female characters. I can't wait for the next book to be released next year!! Is it 2014 yet??
