This version of the Encyclopedia is incomplete. The contents pages show that the full text extends to more than 494 pages. This edition goes up to page 237 when it ends, bringing the first section on the tarot to a premature conclusion.
Those wishing only to familiarize themselves with what the author has to say on the subjects of Astrology, Physiognomy, Chiromancy and Graphology might consider buying this book. It also contains almost all of the author's researches into cartomancy, including the tarot, as part of the divinatory sciences. The second part of the book, entitled The Magical Sciences is missing. In part two, under the heading High Magic, Qabalistic notions associated with the tarot are laid forth.
My interest in the Encyclopedia centered on the sections concerned with high magic, which are entirely lacking in this volume.
Anyone wishing to study those parts of the Encyclopedia concerned with the Magical Sciences and the Metaphysical Sciences would do better to purchase The Complete Book of the Occult and Fortune Telling. This is the same book under another title, containing the full text.
