This album's tremendous! I havn't heard 'Clarence Park' yet, but thanks to this album I'm gonna! The album's full of skittering beats and huge, epic noise, and is reminiscent of other Warp artists like Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin. A must buy for any fan of electronic music. The Warp roster just keeps getting better!

yep i broadly agree with the other reviewer -Chris Clark clearly knows his IDM , Autechre et al + "empty the bones of you " does have some excellent + inventive tracks with a whole host of clever programming tricks , layers + beats BUT the momentum + inventiveness just isnt maitained with several tracks from mid way onwards starting to sound far too sluggish, samey + lack lustre.

so far - i much prefer his later "Growls Garden" EP for its far more uptempo , evolved + more varied styles. and the bass line on the title track is THE dirtiest ! but Empty is disappointingly downbeat / too "noir" for me.

good in places, but not startling.. go for Clark's "body riddle " or "growl's garden" EP instead. or Clark's big influence: Cristian Vogel 's "dungeon master" which is a masterpiece.

...which isn't to say Clarence Park is bad, it's not, it's excellent. It's just that this is incredible.

Here, Clark has really found his vein. 'Holiday as brutality' is an immense tune, stunning. Everything else just feels right. Intelligent, engaging, challenging and beautifully contructed. The beats are measured nicely against the melodic content, the soundscapes are enveloping...

It's also a classic example of why physical releases are so much better than MP3's. The artwork is jaw-dropping, it's a fabulous experience grabbing this from the rack and pressing play...

This is IDM as polished as it come, and I love it. Well done, Chris.

I probably got more mileage out of this CD that anything else I bought last year, at any rate. This is on-your-own, dark and quiet room, chunky-headphone music that will trap you for an hour and not let you out. Some of the most graphic and engaging sounds you might hear for a while.
