A great comeback single proving to doubters that they are much, much more than supposed baggy-revivalists. It's a bit of a grower and after a few listens you'll be totally hooked. It's a classic stomping rock n' roll song with cracking vocals, bass & guitar. This wipes the floor with the competition - who needs pathetic bands like the Kaiser Geeks when you've got Kasabian? They have the belief to go all the way and are the natural sucessors to Oasis and the Roses before them. The best band in Britain, can't wait for the new album. Awesome song - Empire!!

This single is bursting with tunes and effectively blows everything they've done in the past out of the water. Kasabian have obviously been listening to Death From Above 1979 and copied their heavy moog synth and driving bass sound,BUT it works!! Looking forward to the new album; bands can't stick to the same old formula and try to retain the old fans, it's about creativity, exploration and adventures. Let's set sail for a new empire.

The first and strongest single and title track from Kasabian's underwhelming second album. The grandiosely named 'Empire' is a derivative, if appealing glam-rock single, with a squelchy funk bass-line, nonsensical lyrics and nagging synths, that also vaguely recalls the late 20th century dance-influenced indie-rock of Happy Mondays and Primal Scream. Its self-confident energy certainly struck a chord with the record-buying public in 2006 - it was their third UK Top 10 single. The passable B-side 'Black Whistler' is, by contrast, a slow-paced, downbeat song featuring some low-key electronic programming.

Big, stupid and glam-stompy, it's not what you'd really expect from Kasabian but it's still a great song. It retains the driving bass of their earlier stuff and (of course) has a video that tries to make some kind of statement but ends up just being an entertaining diversion. At heart, "Empire" is just one of the epic, singalong tunes that Kasabian do so well and it has all the swagger and arrogance of their previous singles even if it doesn't sound like them. Even the production makes everything they've done before sound tiny in comparison. If the rest of the album is like this, Kasabian will be totally justified in booking stadiums for their tour this year.

Before i had heard LSF and liked it but never knew who it was buy. After hearing this song i enjoyed it, its cathcy and has good tempo and rhythm changes. This song brought me into Kasabian. Its a very good song, once you have let it sink in, and youll soon find your self singing to it, subconsiously.

Kasabian are back.
