I was just a young kid when Emmerdale Farm first emerged and I recall the old story-lines when it was fully rooted in rural life. I bought series one, two, and three, and I can see why this show has lasted so well - 40 years and counting. The only real visual quality issues are the opening credits which are pretty grainy, otherwise the transfer to DVD works well. Each episode is compelling and very watchable. My one gripe is that I want to watch all the episodes from the following years. The next twenty years should keep me going nicely, so come on, do the right thing and publish please...

I have watched the new episodes of Emmerdale. Watching the old ones is good to get back to see where it started. I hope that they bring out more volumes as I would like to see it goes and how it evolved to the present condition of the episodes.

This dvd was great got to see the early episodes which we never got to see at all here in Perth Western Australia. I only wish there were more dvds of Emmerdale later than 2004. Very much enjoyed the dvd.

This dvd takes you back to a simpler time, when Emmerdale farm WAS a farm - and the stories were akin to real life - no outlandish, unbelievable, riduculous ratings-grabbing events going every episode on here - a trip back to the good old days!

I have recently purchased all four volumes of the original 116 episodes of Emmerdale Farm. Volume three takes us up to episode 115. I must from a nostalgic point of view this journey back vhas been very entertaining. It is great to look back and see how it all started with the basic technology they had to work with in those days. The original characters were great fun and the storylines were interesting. I am very pleased with my investment and only wish I could get more volumes.
