One of the first ebooks I read on my brand new kindle! Great choice on my part.
Funny, warm informative, a good read. One of those "un put down able" books.
Whether you are "in the trade" like me, or just like reading real life books, I can really recommend you have a read. It will make you chuckle out loud!

a descriptively written book that made me laugh out loud so many times. i had to keep stopping to read it out to the bloke because he wanted to know what was so funny. if you want to know how not to get stuck in the dark in a rather large fridge, how to manage troublesome vines and how to handle old lady drivers (something we've all secretly thought about) then read this!!!

Great book. Very funny. Humour is a wonderful way of protecting your sanity in the pressurised world of the paramedics. These guys are the first on the scene at most emergencies, making the preliminary assessments of a patients condition and often making on-the-spot life or death decisions. Mike Cyra pitches it just right with a collection of individual situations encountered through his career, where he manages to pick out the humurous bits from what are potentially desperate situations. A good read.

I purchased Emergency Laughter on my Kindle as i have read similiar books before but i was not prepared for how entertaining, funny and hilarious this book actually was! I read a majority of this book to-ing and fro-ing from work on the bus. It was THAT funny that i was cackling out loud on the back of the bus. Needless to say that i got quite a few odd looks! If you want to read stories about chest tube blow darts, grown men being beaten up by a "tiny Asian midget lady" (the authors words not mine), vine problems and other unusual and hilarious antics in the ER, then this is the book for you. My only negative is that there should be a sequel or a book 2! :P Keep up the good work, Mike!!

I really enjoyed this book. It had me laughing like drain. The book is written in a compact straightforward way, as if the author was relating the incidents to you in person. Honest, straightforward humour. There was no waffle, no rants, and no axe-to-grind stuff. It's a collection of funny anecdotes from the author's experience as an emergency paramedic, and it's light, refreshing reading that puts the reader firmly at the scene. My favourite incident was that of the little old lady driver that the ambulance had to bump out of the way. It's a bit short, so maybe the author will write a sequel. Meanwhile, I'll read it again. Go buy.

I didn't like the book. It is very short and while some of the stories might be entertaining with better handling, it seemed to be a disjointed collection of rambling anecdotes. There's no point. What did the writer want to say? Also, a spell checker is not the same as an editor, there were lots of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. Sole for soul, they're for their, sort of errors. Even if it makes me a grammar nazi, those kinds of errors are distracting and ruin the reading experience.

I have been very dissapointed by most of the "medical stories" books that are listed in the Humour section of the very popular ebooks shopping site. They should be in the "Please fetch me some cheese to go with my whine", and indeed I have wasted a hunk of change to discover this. This mighty tome was the last chance for the entire operation, ahem. Pure, unadulterated, rib-breaking genius, with an equal measure of pure, unadulterated caring woven tightly throughout. Bravo, good sir, and please 'keep it 'comin'. Thank You.
