Written from Laney's, Dane's and Evan's POV. I usually hate love triangles but this book is actually really good. Laney and Evan are childhood sweet hearts. Laney is a very funny character with some quick witty comments which I loved. Evan is a lovely sweet respectable guy who's always been in love with Laney. However when they go their separate ways to different colleges their friendship is put to the test and in stead of the distance making the heart grow fonder it did the opposite. Although Laney set Evan free what I didn't expect so soon after leaving her was Evan fooling around with other girls and expecting Laney not to do the same. Can't really blame her for getting on with her life. So I really didn't feel sorry for Evan at all when Laney fell in love with the mysterious Dane who treats her like she's his world. If you loved someone as much as Evan thought he loved Laney there is no way he would have fooled around. He only started to go the extra mile for Laney when he knew she was falling for another guy. So in my opinion he got what he deserved. This is probably why I liked the love triangle in this book. Whilst Laney's ex best friend is pure evil she made great friends at her new college. The writer made a brilliant job of bringing out all the other characters in the book and I loved them all. The only criticism is that it would have been nice to read about what they did in college during the day. Or what Dane did when Laney was in college. It would have given the characters more depth. Oh and one more thing it would have been amazing to see Laney whip her ex best friends backside at softball, her team against her ex best friends team. Oh yes... it would have been nice to see her go down. It's a lovely sweet book which I would highly recommend reading.

Emerge 5* Review

I love the beginning of this book. Laney's little butter wouldn't melt act in front of her dad. And her cocky little attitude towards Evan, it was so funny.

Evan is the boy next door. Every mum would love their daughter to bring an Evan Allen home. He's sweet, adorable and looks out for Laney.

Unfortunately things don't always go as planned. Their dream of going to collage together never came true and they were destined to go in their own directions.

However I wanted to scream at Laney for not giving them a shot. Her best friend. Apparently the boy she loves. Who does that? Well Laney of course.

Most of the book is based on Laneys collage experience. This is were I really loved the book. She goes on a Hall Crawl were she meets the Crew, and Dane. The new characters that came in were really well thought out.

Bennett is the best room mate she could ask for. To be honest the whole crew where really good. I loved the way Sawyer was always there for everyone. He was the big, soft guy. One everyone can love. But Evan had my true heart throughout this book.

The tight friendships that they made was shown continuously in the book. They were all there for each other.

The twist that was put in about kaitlyn, I honestly never seen coming. To just think how lives change and how different directions life could of gone if things had of been different was good to see.

The end of this book was so, so sad. I Lost. I Left and I Lost. I wanted to cry for poor sweet adorable Evan.

This book was really fantastic to read and kept me hooked from the start. You have Laney, who has been best friend with Evan since they were kids and practically grew up together. They are about to head off to different colleges and they both love each other and don't want to leave the other but to give themselves a chance to enjoy college, they go to college as best friends and nothing more and they hope to find they way back to each other but college doesn't pan out like that. Evan heads off to college with Laney's best friend Kaitlyn and she is jealous that she is missing out but she meets a good bunch of people at her own college which includes Dane. Dane is the millionaire who hangs out the college as his brother Tate attends. He's gorgeous, down to earth and a really sweet guy which makes Laney attracted to him from the minute she meets him. Lots of things happen in this story and the one question which is who will Laney choose to be with? Loved this book and im really looking forward to read book 2 in the series.

I actually finished this a few days ago, but you can't stop at just one, you have to read the second. Seriously, it's such a cliffhanger you need to know what happens next!
I hate love triangle novels, but only because they are so heart breaking for me. I always love all the characters and never want anyone to get hurt, but I do find they go the same way.

I read Rachael Brownell's Holding On before this (even though it was published after this one) and I found the plots very similar but I love S.E Hall's so much more.

Not only are all the characters hot as hell, they are also some very good sex scenes, some hilarious lines and the most adorable characters!

Sawyer is becoming my favourite, he's currently the dirty dog but so loyal to his friends. He just needs to find the right woman and I think he might find her in Book 3.

I'm currently working my way through book 2, which focuses more on Evan. He is an amazing guy, such a romantic, sometimes he's so lovely I barely believe he's a 19 year old guy. Sometimes 'The Crew' can seem quite young, especially as there are a few virgins, not a bad thing obviously but they are quite young and naive sometimes. But it is great to watch them grow up, which is obviously what they're all doing.

This series really has me hooked, I've read a few free books which are the start of series but this one made me NEED to buy the next one. I've even seen a few fan made TV/film cast line ups and I would love to see this in a movie or a TV series. It does make me chuckle and I think S.E Hall may fast becoming a new favourite author of mine.

Perfect amounts of romance, sex, humour, adorable characters, drama and twists that this book is definitely worth a read. But be warned, you are signing up for a 4 book deal as soon as you start!
