Emeralds is book 3 In the All That Glitters series and the first book I've read by KA Linde..

I'm not sure this book was for me as it had cheating in it ... but I won't judge the author by this book and I will definitely read the other books in the all that glitters series...

When I started Emeralds I was instantly griped and really eager to read it to find where the story went...

I have heard amazing things about this series so I was excited to read Emeralds...

I got really into the story, liked the characters and it has everything you need to make a great book...

I loved Emeralds up until around 70% ... give or take.

I really started to go off the story when it got to the part where you find out what Preston is up to...

WHY WHY WHY ??? I HATE BOOK'S WITH CHEATING!!!

I was so sad at this point because I really did love it up till this point....

If the story had ended differently I would of given it 100*

Emeralds really was a great book and I think a lot of people will love it... but in my own opinion, it was just how everything turned out that ruined the story for me... and let me down :( up until this point I give the book 4.5* ...

I loved Trihn, I loved her sister at the start then hated her in the end and don't get me started on Preston .... I just wanted to smack him about , GRRR he made me so bloody angry...

So I am going to rate the book on what I thought of the writing and the story overall.... and not based on the fact it has a subject I don't like to read in my books...

I will definitely read more from this author and cant wait for the next book

Emeralds was well written, with a HUGE PLOT TWIST... :o (very sneaky, I wasn't expecting that one) :)

Overall Rating 3.5*

Trihn is living with her sister in her apartment before she starts college in the fall. It is upon one of her visits to the apartment that she meets charming Preston Whitehall and in a matter of days that turn into weeks, she slowly opens her heart to him.

Preston dotes on Trihn and treats her well. He is the charming, suave boyfriend but his actions throughout the book did raise my suspicions that everything was not as it seems.

Trihn shared some of her secrets with Preston and he seemed to actually truly care about her whereas in other parts, he seemed standoffish and aloof about everything. It was not easy to decipher his true motivations or how he truly felt about her. I did get the feeling that he had something to hide. However I actually thought it was something to do with his past not the actual secret that he has.

That did shock me. I spent about an hour staring at my kindle thinking what? Why?

I don’t want to spoil the reason because it is more effective once you’ve read it. I will say this though, be prepared to be annoyed, sad and happy all at the same time. It’s weird but it works within this book

I eagerly look forward to the next part of Trihn’s story but this does not end in a cliffhanger.

Really got into this book. I love the whole chance meeting and then the story just sets off like a bullet train for me. I know this is just the start for the story of Trihn and i cannot wait for more. Preston is a hot guy, i totally would have fell for him like Trihn does. But with these characters i was just waiting for the bomb to drop for him and Trihn. I kept thinking, it is going to be here, no here, and then blam totally took me by surprise..... yeah not gonna tell you what happens or if your heart and head can manage it. You will just have to read and find out, roll on Platinum to see what happens next for Trihn :)

This is the third book in the All that Glitters series and can be read as a standalone. The first two books focus on a girl named Bryna Turner and the people that are a part of her life. Trihn Hamilton is a friend of Bryna's and this book tells her story.

Emeralds is an exciting preview in to the full story behind Trihn. We get to find out about her life before she heads off to college. She meets a guy, falls hard and gets taken on a whirlwind relationship. It's highly emotional, dramatic and sexy!

I can't wait to read Platinum to see how this story ends.

HASH(0x99e2c174) out of 5 stars Emeralds is KA Linde doing what she does best! 17 Nov. 2015
By Tray from TBH - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
When I think of KA Linde, the first word that comes to mind is sadist. Not the sexual kind (get your mind out of the gutter). KA is more of a mental sadist. She likes for her readers to experience mental anguish. Now that I'm thinking about it, what does it say that I rush to download her books as soon as possible? Does that make me a mental masochist?

I must be one, because I am guilty of devouring every angst filled word she writes. Emeralds, her latest instrument of torture, does not disappoint. Yes it has those moments that make you want to chunk your kindle, but that's not all it has. Emeralds is a story of first love, friendship and family.

Emeralds takes place in a world most of us will never experience. That alone drew me in before the plot even took off. Trihn lives a life of New York wealth. Her life is filled with dance, fashion, nights of parties with the beautiful people and summers in the Hamptons. Being a small town Southerner, I loved getting lost in this fast paced, exciting place so different than anything I knew.

The angst builds slowly. I had this feeling of dread almost from the beginning. I have no reason for it because nothing in the story pointed toward impending doom. I think just knowing KA Linde wrote it had me on edge, expecting the other shoe to drop with every finger swipe. All I'll say is hold on to your shoes!

Emeralds takes you through the summer of that first true love. It will take you back to that place when those intense feelings made you say and do things you would never normally do. Decisions made that seemed so right at the time, only to come back to bite you later.

My last words of advice. Don't read this in front of the kids if you are prone to four word outbursts when reading. Because if you are anything like me, you will cuss almost every character in Emeralds at least once. Some of them more than that. I love when characters take me to the edge!!

Do I agree with the reviews so far? I do. Emeralds is another win from author KA Linde. You will enjoy this fast paced, hot, angst filled ride!

HASH(0x99e3563c) out of 5 stars She is one of Bryna’s best friends. Emeralds is a prequel of sorts to ... 20 Nov. 2015
By Christy Baldwin BBU - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
If you’ve read the first two books in Linde’s All that Glitters series, you know Trihn. She is one of Bryna’s best friends. Emeralds is a prequel of sorts to what happened with Trihn leading up to her move to Vegas.

Trihn is a New York girl. She’s a dancer. An overachiever. The summer before her freshman year of college, something unthinkable to her happens… she falls in love. There is this guy named Preston that completely sweeps her off her feet. She’s never felt this way before and the more time she spends with Preston, the harder she falls.

I shouldn’t be surprised when Linde pulls out these big guns, but it seems I always am. This book shocked me. And I was a little (lot of) outraged. The turn the story took… just wow. I knew something would happen but this? Honestly, I’m a pretty easy going reader but this part of the story made me go from loving this story to not feeling all the love. By the end I felt good about the choices Trihn made, but there was a moment… Every reader has a few things that just irk them and this book pushed those buttons. Even so, I am anxious to see where the angst queen herself takes Trihn’s story. Kyla has a way of making her characters flawed and real, so even when you’re frustrated with them, I like that they’re not cookie cutter characters. They make mistakes, screw up, and are real. It’s life. With the next book, I’m curious to what kind of appearances Ian, Preston and Lydia will make. You have my full attention here!

If you’re looking for a story with great writing, a lot of steam, even more angst- this is one I would recommend for you.

HASH(0x99e38be8) out of 5 stars Plot twist have you like what?! 18 Nov. 2015

The queen of angst is at it again with her new book is the "all things glitter series" Emeralds. I love K.A. Linde's books and I was very curious as to what was going to happen in Trihn's story.

Let me just that out angsty author didn't disappoint! In this book we meet back with Trihn the summer before she starts college. Her dance career coming to end as she prepares for fashion school. This was her chance to get out of her comfort zone and have one good time before settling back down...

Trihn found her good in a cute boy named Preston who quickly consumed her thoughts and time... It couldn't be that easy could it? Find the boy have a good time a settle down? Maybe in some stories it could but not in one written by K.A. Linde...

I felt a lot of emotions when I read this book... Giddiness, excitement, love, hurt, rage. And all I know is I am left waiting on the wings for the next book to come out so I can know what happens next!!
