An amazing story which will hopefully spread awareness about the horrors of poaching and highlight the courage and bravery of those who try to protect the animals. Education is the key and books like this should be on exam reading lists so that future generations will learn to think and behave differently and learn to love and respect all the animals we share the planet with.
Having read all three of Lawrence Anthony's books, I was thrilled that francoise had carried on . This incredible brave big hearted lady carried on in the face of adversity. This book is both heart warming and heart breaking. I truly hope that Francoise writes another. I shall be waiting!!!!
I really enjoyed this book and could almost put the pictures to the words. When the animals were sick i desperately wanted to flip the pages to know the outcome. People that can commit to the health and wellbeing of animals is more than admirable it's breathtakingly amazing.
Read all of the Lawrence Anthony books and loved them all. And this book as a continuation from those as well as a book in its own right didn’t disappoint. Thoughtfully written and heartfelt. Although the book recaps some of the events from the Lawrence Anthony books, it was nice to see from another’s point of view. Thoroughly enjoyable.
This is an amazing book and should be in schools.I learnt so much. It will make you cry but hopefully bring change . Now reading the elephant whisperer which is written by her husband and again an amazing book !
Thought it might be a disappointment after "The Elephant Whisper" but it was just as gripping a story. I didn't want to put it down. Francoise seems to have done an amazing job following the death of Lawrence. Sad in places but wonderful commitment to conservation.
An amazing story with many ups and downs but a passion so great to preserve our wonderful animals. A book with a whole lot of feeling. People doing good like this makes me proud to be South African. Thank you for sharing your story.
