Virtual wrestlers are grappling with reality in WCW Mayhem, a true-to-life wrestling game featuring a roster of 60 World Championship Wrestling celebrities, over 600 motion-captured moves, and re-creations of the arenas from the WCW television events, including a dozen pay-per-view super events.
In his signature, over-the-top style, each wrestler enters one of 15 different arenas featured in the WCW series. But unlike other wrestling games, fighting in the ring is just a formality. WCW Mayhem wrestlers are free to take the action ringside or backstage, where a variety of tools of the trade--folding chairs, tables, and other smashable objects--are within reach.
In career mode, players slam their way toward the championship. Other game options include single match, tag team, triangle, four-way dance, and battle royal.

Now, while the graphics are substandard and the controls are clunky, the roster is large and complete (for the time) and the match types are varied, and as I said before, there are features that seemingly couldn't be included in the WWF PS2 game, such as decent commentary, crowd chants, half-realistic weapon shots and wrestlers thankfully being stripped of their ability to dissapear into a fine mist whenever another wrestler makes an entrance.
Now, while this game isn't going to win any awards nowadays, it's actually superior to WCW Backstage Assualt, mainly through being the exact same game but is a wrestling gane with a gosh-darn wrestling ring actually in it!
Ah well, enough from me, if you've been a fan of WCW for a long time this is definately the videogame for you, and even if you're not, just buy it, alright?
(Oh, and you can actually shout "Woooo!" in the game too, bless)
