I'm writing this as I struggle to even play the game!

Whatever happened to buying a game, installing it, and playing it?

Now you've got to sign up to a stupid online gaming site, lauch the game and wait as it slowly loads updates, try to find out how to play it offline, then find the stupid site doesn't recognize your details!

How to put someone off your games before they have even launched the thing.

I don't do Multiplayer, but, to anyone who prefers Single Player versions of First Person Shooters, then this is a 'must buy'. This, in comparison to Battlefield 3 which is approx 30 GBs, and took nearly 5 hours to install from the woefully inadequate EA download servers, is approx. 25 GBs and took less than 2 hours to install including the updates. So, game on, and no need for the disk to be in your hard drive now, which for me was another plus point. Now, I'm not going to spoil the fun for anyone and tell you what happens in the game, I'm sure you can read and research other areas of the internet to gleen what happens, Wikipedia is a good start, if you so desire, however, I will advise you that for the £12 I paid for this it is definately money well spent, and I wouldn't have begrudged spending a bit more on it, to be honest. The game itself has 3 mode levels of attacking the opposition, Easy, Normal and Hard, however, I found the 'easy' bit to be anything but, at times, with my first venture into the fray I was expecting the enemy to be pointed out to me with an arrow/triangle over their heads like in past versions, but, this doesn't, so, you haven't a clue as to where the enemy are hiding and shooting you from, crazy, but, fun. I also found it tough that the enemy could be anything up to a quarter of a mile away shooting at you, as well as ''in yer face'', so, you need to keep your wits about you at all times.Read more ›

I am a great fan of first person shooters and have played all of the Battlefield, Call Of Duty and Medal Of Honour releases over the years.
I've just completed the Battlefield 4 single player campaign after receiving the game for Christmas from my son who bought it from Amazon. I was a bit dubious about trying to play it on my old PC as each new game demands a more powerful machine. I built my current PC back in 2008 using an Abit IP35-Pro motherboard with Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 overclocked to 3.15Mghz running Widows 7 HP 64bit. I've recently fitted 8Gb G.Skill DDR2 RAM and an HIS Radeon HD 7850 iPower IceQ Turbo with 4Gb of GDDR5 SDRAM PCI-Express Graphics Card with latest 13-12 Catalyst drivers to try and squeeze some more life out of my old rig.
I installed the game and maxed it out on Ultra settings expecting it to hang, be jerky or ultimately give a BSOD. Not a problem, I've glided through the game, enjoying some of the most realistic gameplay to date. The choice at the end was a surprise so after going one way I went back and restarted the mission so I could choose differently.......! I must admit I was a bit disappointed I seemed to complete the campaign so quickly but it was great fun.
Multiplayer is a breeze on a fast fibre connection too.
If I can play this on a six year old system then it shouldn't be a problem for anyone using more up to date machines.

I really should have waited untill the game came out and read the reviews before buying..
BUT i thought EA have had plenty of time to get it sorted after releasing BF3 before it was ready..how wrong i was... i havent even been able to finish single player without it just freezing and locking up...My advice to potential buyers is... WAIT.. in another 6 months it will hopefully be playable and cost about £12.00..DONT BUY GAMES UNTILL YOU READ THE REVIEWS

Seriously EA? You used a web browser as a multiplayer game launcher? Who makes these decisions? Can they please be fired by the time Battlefront/Battlefield 5 is released? Because this is just ridiculous.

I've spent 500ish hours playing this game on the PS4 which, as you can tell, I really enjoyed. After finishing the 1 hour+ installation with the PC version, however, I knew this was going to be a very different experience. Booted the game (Via origin, i won't even go there), had Chrome give me pop-up with the battlelog website and it was from here i was expected to navigate from to a server of my choosing.

Why would this not be included in a menu system like 90% of normal companies would have done? Like EA did on the PS$. I guess this is the kind of nonsense i should get used to as a noob PC gamer.

This game is broken in so many ways. The server browser, the rubber banding, the constant crashing. Just look at the list of pending fixes on the official website and you will understand why i'm rating this one star. This is not a playable game yet I payed full price for it. Alpha versions of games are often more stable than this.
