If youre looking to upgrade your tired old monitor to a feature-packed panel without breaking the bank, then this 27 Inch IPS model is just the thing you need. The Quad HD (1440p) display delivers four times the pixels of a 720p monitor, so youll be able to enjoy spectacular visuals enriched with detail to bring your gaming and movies to life. And, if youve got a compatible AMD or Nvidia graphics card, then you can take advantage of the monitors built-in FreeSync or G-sync technology to eliminate screen tear and stutter when gaming. At the back of the monitor theres plenty of ports for you to quickly connect up your desktop PC or games console, including a HDMI and DisplayPort. I, like yourself, have finally clicked on this amazon listing, after hours of searching, and google chrome giving my Ram sticks a leg day workout with 63 tabs we arrive at the Electriq 27" QHD 1440p 95hz IPS Display.
Not our first click, and kind of the one you keep coming back to. No frills, no effort has been put into making this stick out and if you go to their website it has uncompleted modules.
So why am I giving this 5 Stars? Let's get a preliminary report below:
Big Ticks:
1440p panel.
Freesync + Gsync as well!
IPS Panel. (If you're here you know why this is great. If you don't know the difference between TN/VA/IPS do a quick search and then come back. I'll wait.)
Mediocre Ticks:
27" really wanted? Eh kinda check, I think if the option is there 27" over 24" is great. (Subjective).
95hz? Bit odd, not the 144hz I was looking for.
OSD (On Screen Display): I mean it works fine, a lot better than people make it out. It's simple, it does have customisation just not the 18 tabs of gaming modes.
Unticks... Crosses:
The included stand.
The elephant in the room:
The Price: £199.
Alright with that out the way let's finish up with a small review/summary of how this all played out in practice.
-The box it comes in might as well have been the plastic bag Katy Perry was singing about in Fireworks, but it was protected well with styrofoam. The 5 Fragile labels did make me chuckle though.
-Upon opening you have some goodies. HDMI cable Power Cable and the Stand along with the display.
-Installing the stand is a real pain in the butt, I actually bought a VESA mount off amazon for £25 I suggest picking one up, great value. Otherwise you have no height adjust at all.
Now let's get onto the display. It's fantastic, the panel is actually a Pixio PX275h rebranded under Appliance/Laptops Directs OEM. If you are worried about the display being mediocre etc.. Worry no more, it's fantastic.
95hz refresh rate though? Right so this was the only "compromise" in the whole thing, considering it's £199 there had to be something. You can't just pick up a 27 inch 1440p 144hz Freesync/Gsync IPS display for £199. Now can you tell it's not 144hz? Yes, obviously you can. Is it really noticeable? I would say no*. The difference between 60hz -> 95hz is huge and very noticeable. The difference between 144hz -> 95hz is I would say small and not as impactful.
Also if you are here, you probably aren't rocking a 2080TI let's be real here guys. So the chances of us running AAA games with our RX 5700xt or RTX 2060 at 144FPS 1440p maxed settings is adorable at the very least. I feel the 95hz is a great middle ground, with little difference felt while gaming.
So... thanks for reading to the end man. Yeah you, looking great today by the way. In conclusion is this monitor perfect? To be honest it's pretty close, but there is no monitor I would consider perfect. You always have a balancing act of features - price. This monitor is a winner in achieving the best overall features - price. I am very happy with the monitor (For now - 2 odd weeks of using so far) and if you read this wall of text then I can safely recommend purchasing this with no holding back.
Have a great day you little minx.
95hz is a bit strange but unless you are rocking a 3090, you won't notice the difference between 95 and 144hz, as rdr2 and assaains creed valhalla ain't going to run at that speed without giving up some graphics.
Two monitors, from two different suppliers. Both with one stuck pixel. Tbh this is only noticed using Word or a white screen. During gaming I can't see it.
Freesync range out the box is 95 to 50, but using software, that has been stretched to 95-30. Unless there is a massive drop its really good.
Personally I've gone for cool mode as the colours really pop. backlight Bleed isn't amazing but it's also not terrible.
For around 200 quid you can't do better. If they even last 2 years I'd be chuffed to bits.
Hdr is....... Well you won't be using hdr. But for this cost, get a grip if you expect it to work.
My first two pc monitors cost me 300 quid. These are light years better.
If this is your budget, do it.. If you have more cash to spend.... Fair play, this isn't aimed at you.

The panel itself is lovely and sharp and bright enough, especially away from direct sun. It doesn't have the "pop" and contrast of my benchmark 5K iMac screen I use for work but once you are in a game it really does look great. Freesync and 95hz refresh rate really make a difference to games too.
Build quality is good. It comes with a nice heavy stand (no adjustment) and has very thin bezels. It's a bit like a laptop screen as its flush with the bezel and has a similar matte look.
Main limitations are its dull, slightly clunky design - the logo is pretty ugly. Terrible UI and button ergonomics. And the simply dreadful speakers - but I'm still glad to have them for when I don't want to use headphones or decent external ones. All these downsides are completely liveable with and again for the money understandable.
Recommended.
The ElectriQ is going the replace my 6 year old 1080p Dell 24 inch Ultrasharp which is also 60hz. When windows booted I was instantly amazed by how sharp the monitor is compared to the 1080p Dell and no dead pixels.
Setup was minimal, I only needed to set the colour profile the sRGB as some people had noticed a green tinge to the image, but that was not my experience.
Gaming was also great I just needed to change the resolution in game and it looked superb. The OSD has a kind of hidden feature which is a crosshair accessible from pressing the OSD up/down buttons.
The OSD is fine if a little tricky to navigate. You can change profiles from Standard, RTS, FPS etc. I want to be able to set it up and then leave it.
The only issue I've had so far is being able to set the refresh rate in Windows to 95hz. The Hdmi cable supplied only supported 75hz so I have ordered a Display port cable and a HDMI 2.0 cable.
I'm really please I've found this gem and look forward to some happy gaming.
