Elaine Brown was born in Peckham and brought up in Brixton in London. Not exactly horse country! Her parents were horse-naïve and were slightly bewildered by her pony passion, but at the age of 9 they finally gave in and allowed her to have riding lessons. She now lives in Surrey with her husband, son and three cats. She is passionate about animals and devotes time to supporting various animal charities including the Dog’s Trust and Cats Protection.
She has been writing from an early age, mainly poetry and short stories, but a real life event gave her the inspiration for her books. Jackie’s Pony Secret was published in 2011 and Ponies At Penstorran in 2013. Three more books in the series are in the pipeline as well as an adult novel and a series of history books for school-age children. www.in-my-own.write.com
