Product Description

The simple, stylish, straightforward way to start keeping chickens. The Eglu Go is the latest in the Eglu range and keeps up to 4 medium size chickens happy and healthy. A Complete Package The Eglu Go is the simple, stylish, straightforward way to start keeping chickens. It is designed for you to keep up to 4 medium hens like the Gingernut Ranger or 2-3 larger breeds such as Brahmas and Buff Orpingtons. The Eglu Go comes complete with everything you need to get started. It has plastic roosting bars and a discreet nesting area which can be filled with straw or shredded paper to make a comfortable nest for your chickens. Low Maintenance You'll find keeping your Eglu Go in tip-top condition a breeze thanks to its innovative slide-out dropping tray and wipe clean surfaces. Made from energy efficient polymers, it's a hygienic home for your hens that will last for years and at the end of its life can be 100% recycled Easy To Clean The Eglu Go is quick and easy to clean with a slide out tray for collecting droppings and a large door at the back which allows easy access to the roosting bars and nesting area. Simply slide the droppings tray out and empty into the compost bin - they will make a wonderful fertilizer for your plants. The Eglu's smooth plastic surfaces can be washed with a hose - no difficult corners or absorbent materials, or give it a deep clean quickly with a pressure washer. Unlike wooden housing, you do not need to treat your Eglu. Warm in Winter The Eglu is specially designed to keep your chickens warm in winter. The Eglu has a unique twin-wall insulation system which works in a similar way to double glazing trapping a pocket of air which provides a very effective means of insulating the house. Cool in Summer In summer your chickens will be kept cool by the Eglu's draught-free ventilation

Had mine 3 years now. The roof did start to crack at the back during its second winter but omlet replaced it free of charge. No rust. I had a red mite infestation but cleared it pretty quickly with frequent cleaning and application of mite powder. The run is small if you never let the birds out but I just built a bigger run around it and let them out into the garden now and then.

My only complaint is the the feed hopper is a pain in the behind to take apart for a proper clean

I have compared lots of houses now and the Omlet stuff is still about twice the price of most competitors-very in with the mums that want to boast, but really better to get a well made British house and keep your chooks mite free with anti-flea drops like you would for dogs and cats-they will have more room, be healthier and therefore live longer and lay more-Win, Win. When you power wash, you spread the mites and they just trundle back!

The Eglu runs are NOT fox proof, and the catches are the most annoying-badly made and don't fit properly. The plastic fades quickly and cannot be re-painted or stained. All in all... a big thumbs down from an experienced chicken keeper! sad

I expect all the people who bought them a year or so ago and find that bits are rusting, the colours have faded or their chickens died are now giving a different review!
