This was the first Melvins record i brought back in '94 and i still love them today. This was also the first time i'd heard the band.I dont think anything can prepare you for the noise you hear, uncontrolled feedback,no particular song structure, i'd heard sonic youth before this but Eggnog was just pure genious. This is the true answer for what was Kobains naff grunge explosion and it gets better every time i hear it. Lay back and let charmicarmicat wash over you like waves of black tar. This is also where Kharnate got all of their ideas.I really recomend this album if you like heavy experimental music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes Eggnog Everyday ! 15 Nov. 2013

I give the Eggnog ep 5 stars . this is just my opinion Eggnog and the 3 solo ep's define the Melvins and I think Its leading up to the master piece's Houdini, and Stoner Witch. I highly recommend this gem.
5.0 out of 5 stars Short but Sweet 26 April 2015

Only four songs, but they're all certified Melvins classics. "Charmicarmicat" is one of their heaviest jams.
5.0 out of 5 stars MELT YOUR BRAIN 24 Feb. 2015
By chris - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Intense sludge metal from the Melvins. This 4 song ep is filled with plenty of doom metal dirges, bone crushing drum n bass, and brain damage inducing distorted guitar feedback, This is VERY heavy and will scare all the neighbors away while melting your brain and speakers, Pure annihilating rock n roll. Play it loud or not at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Satan probabally has this one on his i-pod 30 Dec. 2006
By Stephen Brown - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
My wife bought me this one for Chistmas just a few days ago (it's called Eggnog after all!). It's one of a handful of Melvins albums I haven't had the pleasure of owning yet. Naturally, it does not disappoint. There's a short track list on this album, but the final track "Charmicarmicat" is a real gem. It's a masterpiece of painful and glorious doom, on par with "Boris" from their Bullhead album. It's about ten minutes of blood & guts oozing from the bowels of your speakers, and sounds like a steamroller stuck in slow gear plowing over a mountain of screaming puppies. I'd be willing to bet this is the song playing in the elevator ride down to Hell.

4.0 out of 5 stars ...I don't feel so good... 23 Dec. 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
"Wispy" is one of the best Melvins songs ever. It begins with pounding drums that blast into a frenzy of feedback and insanity. Then drums and bass pound out a jerky rhythm while Buzzo moans about being boiled alive or something. Then a bizarre scream erupts and you get the feeling that he's either going to die or.....well, die. The bass and drums rock out behind this for a few seconds, then...ah! a return to the pounding drums from the beginning. Then it's all over. If this sounds intriguing to you, then pick this cd up. Then listen to all four songs, which are all really good, and buy every other Melvins album that you can get your paws on. Then you will know the true meaning of Rock.
