This book is well worth a read to get you thinking about pricing and how to increase your profits. I get the feeling that the case studies are the extreme examples and am sure that there are many firms that will get much less of a benefit. However, I have reviewed my client list and will aim to introduce elements of the book especially Menu Pricing.

It didn't get 5 stars as one chapter sells you what sounds like a great piece of software called "Time's Up" but when you look into buying it, it is not openly available to purchase. Instead you have to attend a seminar and sign up to AVN's services.

I also feel that a lot of the ideas would be far easier for a fairly new practice to implement rather than a long established practice but I'm sure others would argue against this.

I would definitely recommend buying and reading the book.

A few good tips in here on pricing strategy - such as suggesting you experiment with raising prices for a selection of your fees to see how it goes. The idea would be that if you could increase prices and still retain at least the same level of income, even if you lost one or two clients, then you would be in a better position.

Of course, it is really a marketing volume for seminars and for the author's own business.

This is a must for all accountants but should be read and not left on the shelf!!....this book will increase your profits and is full of great advice which is clear and to the point. 12 great lessons which if you own a practice and dont learn you will find your left behind your competitors who are effectively pricing, giving value and making profits.

As someone that shares Mark's passion for getting pricing right in business, I fully agree the power of the book's content in raising this essential topic. More than simply looking at pricing, the book looks specifically at the challenges faced by Accountants, and talks in simple language about exactly how those in the profession need to adapt. I know from my own research on the topic that the most important issue for any business, and Accountancy practices are no exception, is that they DECIDE on a clear pricing strategy for the business, rather than allow their prices to be set under pressure from customers or competitors.
Mark writes in a style that is easy to read and understand and that gets quickly and simply to the core point. Why not take one of those hours you sell too cheaply, and use it to read his book to find out why you should stop charging by the hour altogether and start getting paid what you are really worth!

Having read Mark's book I am again motivated to make some more change to the way we do business within our own practice. Change is on the agenda for today's partners meeting and I am convinced that we can do some marvellous things for our clients and ourselves. Well done Mark and I thoroughly commend this book to all practising accountants.

As always, Mark has got it right. The book is easy to read and understand and will further help me grow my profitability. Some of the facts are surprising but so sensible.
Once started you cant put it down until finished and I have already read it several times.

This wok is really work buying for all accounting and bookkeeping professions as Mark talk about Effective Pricing stratergy which really works
with some effort. Its a handy book to guide you and help you get involved and implement.

I highly recommend this book for all accounting profeesionals and firms involved.
