Fitting the earmuffs to my 4-year-old's head was simple and hassle-free, and my child found them comfortable. Build quality is good, with none of the flimsiness or breakage-prone problems reported for similar products.
In operation, the muffs worked exactly as they should; sounds at normal levels and frequencies were audible, but the high frequency sounds of fireworks exploding were significantly muffled and reduced, and my child thoroughly enjoyed the 30 minute fireworks show.
I can heartily recommend this product.
I also bought the lady bird coveres to individualise them. (Covers also not great - Looked super cute. But a bit of a rip off for the company to charge more for some covers. And we used them for two days and the print came off. Honestly not worth it at all.
My main issue is they didn’t really block out much of the sound. I know they are not completely noise cancelling but when I wore them.... they blocked out the sound of people talking close to me, but not of the music going on at the stage.
Certainly don’t buy these if your looking to use them for someone who has Autims or sensory needs. They won’t block out enough of the sound.
The material seemed a little cheap, but they were cheap to buy so I guess I didn’t expect much.
But my main issue is the way the metal head band was quite tight and it was difficult to put them on my child, and I think they actually hurt her little baby head a bit. And she would take them off, and the head band would ping back to shape and squish her face. Also the metal that held the ear pieces was quite thin, and thebear pieces would spin into different positions, which is great to fold them down. But they don’t really need to turn inside out. There is not reason for this. It was mildly annoying when I was trying to put them on the baby andbshes wiggelibg and the head phones are moving and the ear pieces are spinning ..... as I said before.... they were ok.
They work the same way as lab or workmens ear defenders - they insulate the ear from noise. To do this they have to have a very snug fit to the ear, held tight to the ear.
They are NOT noise cancelling headphones so don't expect them to fit softly to the ear or to replace noise with white-noise.
I have to say, both my sons like the snug/tight aspect as they say it makes them feel safe and they know they are going to work.
