About the Author
J. D. Irwin (who also answers to Julie) started writing Edwin Spencer: Mission Improbable, the first book to feature Edwin and Perpetua, in 2001 when on maternity leave. She'd been writing grown-up fiction on and off for years, but soon discovered writing stories for children was much more fun and from then on didn't want to write anything else!

My mum bought this book for me, my sister(she's 8), my two cousins (aged 7 and 9) and my best friend (also aged 12). We all thought it was a great, fun read - as did my mum (and she's 47!!).
This book is perfect for you if you like Adventure, Fantsy, Comedy, a touch of magic and using your imagination!!

I won't give anything away about the story, but I will tell you that the writing is sharp and funny, and each chapter ends with a bang that makes it very hard to put the book down. There's fantasy, magic, far-off lands, and great storytelling.
Anyone who likes Harry Potter will love this book, and that's just about everyone, right?
Buy it now, you won't regret it.
I loved the fact it got darker towards the end which leaves me wanting to read more about "Hysteria" and their enemies... The potential of future stories is fantastic....roll on the next book!
