5.0 out of 5 stars I've finally found her! 18 Sept. 2000
By A Customer - Published on
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
As a young child I was waiting at the hospital to visit my Grandmother and someone had left this wonderful book outside on a picnic table. I looked through it as my uncle read it to me.Unlike all of my books at home, I could actually understand on my own what was going on. When it was time to leave, as it wasn't my book, I left it on that bench. I have spent the last 30 years trying to describe this doll to people so I could find her again. This was an important book to a small girl back then and an important book to this woman today. The photographs are so beautiful! Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite childhood memories... 20 Oct. 2000
By A Customer - Published on
Format: Hardcover
Like "A reader from Minnesota" (my old home state) I cannot count the number of times I checked the Lonely Doll books out of the library as a child. The pictures and stories have stuck with me my whole life and are some of my favorite childhood memories. I nearly wept with happiness when I found out these were coming back into print. I anxiously await the rest of the titles in the series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Edith & Mr. Bear 21 Feb. 2001
By Linda Bishop-Papile - Published on
Format: Hardcover
After having read many books in the Edith and Mr. Bear series as a child I was thrilled and overcome with extreme emotion to have found them again. Having two small girls of my own I hope they will love them as much as me and my twin sister did growing up. I also found two of my favorites (Edith and the Kitten, and Edith Learns and Lesson) on a rare books site, and quickly snatched them up. This time I will cherish them and hopefully I will be able to keep them for my grandchildren and great grandchildren. I've been searching for these books for over 4 years, my search is over. Thank You.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love Edith and the Bears 22 Mar. 2001
By A Customer - Published on
Format: Hardcover
I too am so happy to see some of these books back in print to share with my daughter. Edith learns some important lessons in this story about the consequences of being untruthful and playing with matches. Learning important lessons isn't always easy and painless as she finds out. The important thing is that she has loving and caring guidance from Mr. Bear. I hope to see more of these books back in print. I have heard that "A Gift from the Lonely Doll" will be out just in time for the holidays this year. I certainly hope so and look forward to it.

4.0 out of 5 stars I've never forgotten Edith! 3 April 2005
By S. M. Caughran - Published on
Format: Hardcover
My sister heard a feature on public radio with the author of the new biography of Dare Wright. She called me immediately asking if I remembered Edith, Mr. Bear, and Little Bear. Of course, I remembered! As a child I loved these books and discovered them at the public library. Among my two sisters and I, the books were checked out repeatedly. The photographs and stories are poignant and touch me even today.
