Product Description

The Coffeeduck lets you change your Senseo Classic into an espresso coffee maker. The Coffeeduck is a 2-pod holder that is also suitable for ground coffee. You?ll be amazed by its many options! The Coffeeduck is suitable for all types of coffee, from fast-brew filter to finely ground espresso coffee. You can dose 5 to 14 grams of loose coffee in the Coffeeduck (ordinary paper pods contain 7 grams of coffee). I have had the senseo coffee machine for a few years now and love its simplicity and ease of use. However, recently i have found it ever more difficult to find shops selling more than just the mild and dark roast pods. I'm a big fan of coffee and appreciate the different flavours. I was considering upgrading my senseo machine so that i could expriment with different types of coffee but happened to come across the Coffee Duck device whilst browsing online.

Having read a few of the reviews on here i was a little unsure as to whether this would solve my predicament. In the end i decided that for the price it was worth a try rather than spend more money on a new machine.

I have used the coffee duck several times now and can confirm it is an excellent device! It does exactly what it is designed for and opens up the senseo machine to use whichever coffe you wish.

Compared to using pods the yes it is a little more time consuming. But its all relative, it still takes less than a minute to fill the machine with water, spoon a couple of teaspoons of coffee into the duck, shut the lid and boil the water. My advice would be to place the duck on a worktop whilst adding the coffee to help avoid spilling it in mid air! Pat the coffee down lightly and run your finger around the rim to remove any stray coffee before putting the lid on.

Cleaning is also straight forward.

All in all, a brilliant accessory for your senseo if like me you want to try a new flavour or brand of coffee. Glad i bought this item!

Two enormous benefits gained by buying this Coffeeduck.

1 - You can choose your own coffee.

I've been a Senseo user for 5 or 6 years, and my old unit hasn't been working so well for a while. I've hesitated to replace it because availability of coffee pods is so hit and miss in UK supermarkets, but finally my other half made an executive decision and bought a new one.

So, in a fit of enthusiasm, I ordered up a Coffeduck to go with it, thinking that way I could still use it even if the last of my local stores stopped selling pods. Well as far as I'm concerned, they can stop anytime they like!

The Coffeeduck loaded with with a strong italian filter coffee makes world-class espresso. I can put in my own fresh-ground coffee (wow!), strong blends, mild blends, it's like having a coffee shop in the kitchen, but with all the ease of use of the Senseo still there.

Swilling out the pod for a refresh is a doddle, filling is only a bit more effort than putting in a pod, and it's even more environmentally friendly since there are no paper pods wasted in the process.

Love it!

Although this product is advertised on Amazon UK as working with the HD7825/50, it does not work with it. So, if you buy it, you will have to pay £2.20 or £2.70 to return it for a fault that is not your own.

Not sure that I believed the hype when I sent for this coffee pod holder.I did so because I needed a new 2 pod holder and thought I might as well have this dual function thing. I also thought it a tad expensive. After using it every day for a month however I can say that it was worth every penny. I can now use my Senseo with any coffee that I prefer and save money whilst doing so. It will soon have paid for itself. The coffee produced is to the same standard as with the pods ( the cremola or foam is just as good ) and the strength and taste depends on the coffee used and the ammount placed in the holder. Wisebuy!

I would recommend this to anyone with a senseo machine. It works really well and means that any coffee can be used. The coffee produced seems to come out just as well as with pods and still has the creamy layer. You can also use it as a double pod holder which is very useful.

This does exactly what it's designed to do, lets you use you own coffee in your Senseo. I find it OK for occasional use but it does seem to have a few drawbacks:

1. You lose the convenience of the Senseo pods if making more than one cup as you need to clean the coffeduck between runs
2. You have to be meticulous when putting the coffee in as any left on the rim of the duck affects the seal on the Senseo (this is explained in the instructions)
3. For best results the coffee needs to be ground for expresso machines, if you haven't a grinder this limits your choice of coffee.
4. Crema is non existent no matter what coffee I use
5. Isn't as cost effective as I'd hoped - a pack of coffee @ £3.50 makes approx 20 mugs, 20 mugs size pods @ £4.00 means payback will take 320 mugs of coffee

It's probably OK for someone living alone and only needing one cup at a time, but in a family situation where a few cups are needed it's too much hassle.
