This a good selection of Christmas stories, all are contemporary, some with paranormal basis. Nothing sensational but a good read.

Lots of short stories, which were mostly good. Two I skipped and two I didn't understand. A good collection of Christmas stories.

I ordered this book collection for my new kindle because they were free. They're a nice introduction to kindle books, lots of short stories to try it out. I did get them thinking 'holiday' meant summer but in fact in American it means Christmas!

Twee wisdom is the order of the day in this book, a collection of festively-themed short stories. Actually the brief is even narrower than that: it's a collection of stories about people who pause for a moment in their busy lives to reflect on the real meaning of the holidays. Often this period of reflection is driven by something paranormal, such as in "St Claws" where a recently unemployed man experiences an It's A Wonderful Life-style vision of what life would be like if there was NO CHRISTMAS! Gasp! Incidentally, the job he lost was as a professional fortune cookie writer, which earned him $80,000 per year. Now that's paranormal.

It's perhaps not quite as ridiculous as "Saving Grace" which tells the story of a young girl working in a department store. She's psychic with the ability to sense people's emotions, and most people's emotions are along the lines of "Argh, I hate Christmas shopping". She's sad and depressed until she meets a saintly boy who is spending his pocket money on presents because it will be his last, due to his cancer. And how does she know he has cancer? Through her psychic powers? No, she finds this out because -this really happens - he is wearing a t-shirt that says "I have cancer". He helps to teach her the true meaning of... etc, etc

I expected the stories to give me a Christmasy feel and to make me want to keep reading but I was a bit disappointed.
