Great songs and usual. Liked most of them. The mixture of sombre and then typical rock gives it a good balance. My favorites are 16,America, Echo Mountain and Say A Prayer. I hope you will enjoy it as well.

I'm off to Berlin to see this band in November - not because I'm a fan but the support act is Justin Currie (lead singer of Del Amitri) and a friend is a huge fan. Thought I should check out the lead act - this album has just been released - think it's their 5th. Can't say I'm loving every track - It's a double CD with 7 tracks on each CD (seems a bit weird that but....) - been struggling to think of a good description of the music - Melodic Rock is my best effort. Good vocals and whilst I haven't analysed the lyrics I haven't heard any terrible English which you sometimes get with European bands singing in English.

Think I will enjoy the gig

HASH(0x8fb2a57c) out of 5 stars 3.5 stars... Uneven return from K's Choice 14 April 2010
By Paul Allaer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
K's Choice, the band founded by siblings Sarah and Geert Bettens, and one of Belgium's best bands ever, went on an indefinite hiatus in 2002 after a brilliant 10 year run, punctuated by the band's US break-out hit in 1995 "Not An Addict". Since the hiatus, Sarah Bettens released a couple of interesting solo-albums, but last summer the band finally got together again for some touring and announced they would make a new album. Now finally comes the new album.

"Echo Mountain" (2 CDs; 15 tracks including a bonus track; 54 min.) is a curious affair on many levels, and I say this as a fan from the first hour (and as a Belgian). CD1 (7 tracks; 26 min.) is the "up-tempo" CD. I put up-tempo in quotes because the songs are mostly power-ballads to my ear, with a couple of exception, in particular the title track (a reference to the studio in NC where the album was recorded) and best of all, the all too short (2'30") "I Will Carry You". I rate CD1 3 stars. CD2 (8 tracks; 28 min.) is the "soft" CD, which brings a great collection of reflective songs, none better than "16", in which Sarah pines over youth lost. The closer "How Simple It Can Be" is another great song. The version of this album (which I got via a buddy in Belgium) contains a bonus track "Show Me How It's Done", also quite nice. I find myself playing CD2 much more than CD1. I rate CD2 a solid 4 stars.

In all, a rather uneven return from K's Choice, and nowhere near their peak output from the mid/late 90s. And can someone please explain to me why this album is issued on 2 CDs, when it simply could've been done on a single CD (just seperate the 2 song cycles by a 30 sec. silence or something). But I'm glad to see the band back together, and I hope they will continue at it. They have a heavy tour schedule coming up in Europe (obviously their strongest fan-base). But here's hoping that they'll cross the pond and tour here too. Sarah, after all, has made the US her permanent home for many years now (in Tennessee).
HASH(0x8fb2a5dc) out of 5 stars Excellent Com back! 2 Jan. 2011

I have been a K's choice fan for maybe 7 years now. I ordered Echo Mountain recently, and I absolutely love their coming back album. The music was written and arranged more maturely compare to their early albums. Almost every single song is awesome, I don't have to skip any song when listening to the whole album.
The whole album is only 14 songs separated into two discs (for no reason). Disc 1 is more up-tempo and disc 2 contains more ballads. If you are their fan, you will love this album for sure.

All of the songs are terrific and just a nice sound. It's different from the "usual" stuff and I would highly recommend.
HASH(0x903670b4) out of 5 stars Still a fan. 16 Oct. 2012

I have loved K's Choice since I first heard them in 1997. You can hear the musical changes and evolutions through their albums. Although the sound is still K's Choice, a few songs are noticeably happier. The feel of the album is almost like finding contentment, although I am sure there are a lot of people who would disagree with me. I rather enjoyed the album and I am still a fan.
