The book is slim, light weight and perfect for carrying to the supermarket as a reference. My youngest child suffered with acute middle ear infection from a baby right through to start of High School and now I know why - chicken and sweetcorn! Chicken is now banned from our menu (you'll need to read the book, as chicken is not at all good for those with B blood group and Dr Adamo goes into more detail in this book and also in 'Eat Right for your Blood Type').
I started reading the Blood type diet in order to try to loose weight - and if I stick to it, the weight rolls off me. However, it is more that a weight loss book, it also 'supports' health. The idea is that there are foods which are highly benefical for our blood type, that is, they act like a medicine; there are foods which are neutral and these are simply a food and nourishment for us and there are foods which are not suited to our blood type, that is, they are like a poison to our bodies. Eat Right For Your Type covers all Blood Groups, however, if you want a reference book that is easy to carry around, which also contains info and examples, then this Blood Type specific book is great.
This is important to me as, for example, if you look up tomatoes, the website says that tomatoes are neutral for non-secretors but must be avoided by secretors, whereas the book says that tomato must be avoided by B blood type.
And, for barley, the website says it is neutral for secretors and non-secretors, but the book says to avoid it.
This is a disappointment. Dr D'Adamo would be best advised to update his pricey little book.
Looks like I'm back to the internet and that this was a waste of £8.
