I went on a day course where elements of this book were demonstrated. I enjoyed it so much that I bought the book and intend to try a few of the projects. It has clear instructions which anyone with a little knowledge could use the book. My husband was very impressed with whay I produced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unusual technique from an experienced quilter 14 Oct. 2012
By LuvKimono - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I bought this book after seeing a quilt called World Music that was made with the method described there in the Spring 2007 issue of "American Quilter" magazine. The instructions in that article were not very clear, but I loved the results of the author's work, so I kept on the lookout for other quilts made with the same method. A quilt called Taupegraphical appeared in the July/Augusut 2007 issue of "Quilters Newsletter" that seemed to be made with the same design and construction; it was by Wendy Hill, the author of this book. I waited five years to buy the book. Now that I have it, I am determined to make my own rendition of the World Music quilt and others from the book, which is very interesting and will let me produce some really unusual and upbeat quilt designs. The method consists of zigzagging the block curves and then applying bias tape that you have constructed by cutting your fabric strips at a 45 degree angle. The bias tape is made when you pull the fabric through a bias maker tool. The tape gets pressed and then applied to the block, finally being stitched after it is completely pinned. This is a very nice book that includes diagrams but no templates for the block designs--many of the blocks have been prepared intuitively rather than from templates. I would say that this is for the intermediate to advanced quilter, though a determined beginner could probably make use of it as well. The author has a very nice website that you can consult before buying the book to see what quilts produced with the technique look like.

4.0 out of 5 stars Every thing I expected it to be. 12 Nov. 2007
By Helena K. Merrick - Published on Amazon.com

Very colorful pages, easy to read, great for the quilter who is looking for something different using the bias tapes....no celtic designs, the ideas can be used for contemporary quilts, it is just what I was looking for when I purchased this book.

I liked the take the writer had on this type of quilt, allows a wider array of designs. Limitless opportunities to use about any color combination and take it to another level of quilting.
